To me they are what they are, toys not props. Having over 300+ props in my ever expanding collection, These role play items are things to let the kids play with and to wear on your costumes when going to parties.
I'm just thankful that anyone is still producing toys from a show that has been off the air for 40 years.

lol:lolI love that phaser and communicator, because it´s so cheap, still looks great, has high play (and annoyance) value and ... I just love it !!! Does the MR Phaser do all the gimmicky stuff as well ? And the communicator ? I kicked myself when I didn´t get them on release, but the AA/DS stuff did soothe the pain a bit
By the time it get's here all the life forms I want to scan for will be dead.
Maybe they are holding off so the movie products can move off the shelves easier????

Good news!! According to NewForceComics.com, the tricorders are on the boat from Hong Kong on their way to the USA:
"DST informs us that both the Ent D and Tricorders have left HK. Their most up to date ETA is 6/17 on the Ent D and 6/24 on the Tricorder."

I have a question regarding these tricorders....In some photos it shows the DS tricorder with a blank greenish/grey screen (As though the screen were turned off). Is this an optional feature that is available with the science and medical tricorders?
As odd as it may sound, I find the greenish/grey blank screen kind of cool....The look has a kitchy feel which reminds me of the blank screens seen on old 1950's/60's TV sets.

Based on the most recent production pix of the actual toy, looks like the screen is almost clear because you can clearly see the unlit slide (showing the sciences or medical viewscreen artwork) when the tricorder is turned off. Go a few pages back in this thread to see some pix I posted.

Yea, its been like Oct. of last year when they first announced it, I seriously cant wait, being a huge trek fan myself I have never actually held one, just wanna get my hands on one!!!

Actually they announced it at Toy Fair 2008 which was in Feb. , Oct. 08 was supposed to be the original release date.
Ahh, thats a long ass time!

I just checked my account at BBTS and see that I have had the TOS tricorder and WOK phaser preordered since July 24th 2008. It has been so long, I had to update my credit info.

Seriously... this thing was supposed to be part of my Halloween costume last year. As long as I get it before this year's Halloween, there really isn't much more *****ing I can do.
Then x that by 2 add 6 weeks and an extra month just to be safe!! :eekObviously there is little we can do to make it happen any faster -- I suppose that should DS announce any NEW stuff, we should just go in assuming that we should add an additional 3 to 12 months onto whatever their proposed shipping date is -- then we won't be so disappointed.
