Oh that stinks. I was really hoping it would spin... now I just might get the science tricorder instead.
No motorized "spinner" in the medical tricorder scanner, per DST:
"We opted for sound and a gear box that was actuated with a thumb dial." :cry No wonder they didn't show it at Toy Fair. Oh well, we still get a cool tricorder toy.

Well no, both tricorders DO have spinning moires, it's the small hand-held medical scanner that has a manually-operated function.
The sciences version is $34.99 at newforcecomics.com; the exclusive EE medical version is $39.99 (apparently, same price everywhere that sells it).
