Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

Alot of times, a PartNumber-DashNumber like this saw, will be very similar with one small detail different. Like an extra/less rivet, or the tooth pattern. Or, like where I work, a different length. So, I wouldn't get too down about it until you see the replacement.

As far as the CNC Mill, I got it in, the motor mounts are 2/3 designed. I should have them to my plasma cutting guy tomorrow, and maybe painted and installed by tomorrow night.

The end of next week is possible for CNC control, and maybe cutting kill knives!

I'll keep you updated

I checked their site, and it looks like the small saw was replaced by the larger saw we need anyway. Although, so place in PA cannot be the only supplier of this type of saw in the world. We'll find it!

Hey I just got my large bone saw :cool

All I need is the spatula cut and the kill knife :love

I really hope everyone can get the small saw

It's waiting for you...

This is so full of awesome.
I'm way too far behind. I got my gloves in yesterday and got the kill shirt last week. I need to start on this before more items are discontinued.

More horrible news.........

I just called Thermo Scientific and the woman told me, "The item was discontinued in June 2007 and there is no replacement."

NOW WHAT?!?!?!!?

I wouldn't worry too much about the Mundial Knives. The Spatula I would grab now at the $40 price tag before it sells out and is $80 everywhere else. The Bone Saws.... Ugh the Bone Saws.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUDDDDDDGGGGGGGEEEEE!!!!!!

Hhhmm, so how did EMS have something that was discontinued 4 years ago? These 2 places cannot be the only US supplier for these type of instruments.

The good news is that "we" have our hands on one of the correct saws... if Mike was willing, we could still have a machinist make a few copies, and they wouldn't even require functional blades.

That is an awesome idea. I have been searching high and low for it. I even have one of my relatives who works pretty high up in a hospital here to ask around for it.

If we were to do that, I would definitely want one with a functional blade:love The only option we have left is to steal one from a Rachiotomy surgeon :ninja:lol

I can't believe it either, but I sort of do. Makes sense if one supplier says its discontinued, the other supplier does too.
That sounds like a great idea. I hope Pitbull says it's cool to get measurements and stuff. If we're getting the Kill Knife made, why not the Rachiotomy Saw?

Hopefully we will get lucky here. I know it's gross but I'd take a "used" one. I would highly disinfect it first though.

I would take a used one as well, but if this has been discontinued for so long, I can't imagine there are many left in the field. There has to be a shelf life as far as how long these things can be washed and reused... right?

Hey,
from what I understand from talking with my relative is that they use them until they can not hold an edge anymore or be sharpened.:eek I would think that there might still be some in hospitals out there. Another thought would be maybe a medical school? I don't know, I might be leaning more towards getting one made, since they seem to be really hard to find.

I don't think we're going to have any other choice but getting them made. I doubt some school is going to send a bunch to some psycho collectors.
