Dexter's Kill Bag and Tools

The sad thing is Zombie_61, I know exactly what the pants look like. I have been going through every episode and can't find one logo. I could ID them if I knew what to type into Google. I really don't think they're cargo pants, though. I can't see any pockets on the side. Only a front pocket above the left knee. There is a button on the right slanted pocket, no flaps on the rear pockets. The right rear pocket has a brownish stripe.

Dexter wears these pants with a red shirt in Season 2 Episode 12. You can get a really good look at them in there. But I can't find one friggin logo.

The only time I've seen anything resembling a logo on Dexter's pants is in "Popping Cherry" (Season 1, Episode 3) at approximately 32:09. Right after Dexter prevents Jeremy Downs from killing the kid in the yellow shirt, as he's heading back to his car he encounters an alligator which takes him by surprise; this causes him to slip and fall in the mud, and as he gets back up his shirt rises and reveals a black patch with a yellowish/greenish logo at the beltline above the right rear pocket. Unfortunately, I don't recognize the logo and I don't have the equipment to get a screengrab or get a clear view of it to try to make out the lettering. Maybe someone here will have better luck?

Remember, these are the Season 1/early Season 2 pants (which definitely have flaps on the rear pockets). Somewhere during Season 2 (after Doakes shoots Dexter in the leg, I think) the pants change.

I really believe it is a yellow Lucky Brand Logo in that episode. Check these pants out. Even the buttons on the side match up. The V rear belt loop matches also. LUCKY BRAND BLACK COTTON CARGO PANTS SIZE 36/34 - eBay (item 320660449621 end time Mar-03-11 11:31:50 PST)

Now for the Season 2 pants (first appearance in Episode 11), I have no idea....... :cry:cry

Yep, I believe you're right--that sure looks like the same logo, and the other details (except the color, of course) seems to match as well.

I believe so also.

I think the Season 2 pants are way cooler though. I'm still going to keep trying to get an ID on them. Also trying to ID the duffel bag and syringe case he keeps the M-99 in.

Those pants definitely match what I see in Season 2 when Doakes shoots Dex in the leg! Good find.

On a side note, has anyone had any luck finding the Diesel Cassidy boots available anywhere?

Yeah, that's one of the things about the show that doesn't work from a real-world point of view--Dexter couldn't afford to live that kind of lifestyle and be a serial killer (not the way he does it, anyway) on a Forensic Scientist's salary. But, hey, Showtime can afford it.

Makes me think that the Season 2 Kill Pants are over $100. These pants are driving me nuts!!!! I want an ID!!!!! :cry

You don't think so? Until season 4, he's single, living in an apartment, doesn't buy a whole lot of clutter.

Hey everyone, I got a great lead on the Cargo Pants!!

I got in touch with someone in wardrobe. Here is what she wrote.
"The pants are G Star. It is a discontinued style but they have a similar pant called "laundry rovic". Hope that helps."

I have Google-Fu'd my ass off looking for the exact style discontinued pants, but have come up with nothing. At least we all know they are G-Star now. I'm sure if we all combine forces here, we can find exactly what they are. The chances of getting a pair is pretty slim I imagine, but at least I can sleep now sort of.

These maybe? http://www.letsbuyit.de/product/10145015/stoffhosen-herren/g-star-raff-elwood-pant-army-pk-rover#images

**EDIT- Just remembered and am posting this in the Cargo Pants thread in the Costumes Section.

Again, this is from a real-world perspective. Being a Forensic Scientist, Dexter would know that even the most microscopic piece of evidence connecting him to his victims could be discovered on his clothing, even though he wears an oversuit (of sorts) during the dismemberment process. This means he would have to dispose of, and replace, all of his kill clothes after every kill--shirt, pants, gloves, boots, socks, underwear, oversuit, etc.. Combine that with the cost of constantly replenishing his supplies--plastic, tape, cleaning products, rubber gloves, garbage bags, fuel for his boat, M99, and such--on top of normal living expenses in Miami, and it gets very expensive.

Also from a real-world perspective, his kill clothes don't make much sense. I understand the production staff responsible for Dexter's wardrobe want to create a "look" for the character, but Dexter would know that hard-to-find designer items would be easier to trace--another way for the police to track him if they ever discovered his m.o. (even though he makes these purchases under an assumed name). No, he would select common and easy-to-obtain clothing that could be purchased anywhere, at any time, by anyone.

Of course, it is a television series, so the audience does have to allow for artistic license. ;)

Back to the pants, well done DP!

All good points, though you are forgetting where an investigation must start. They start with finding a body, or knowing a crime scene and Dexter doesn't leave those lying around. IF there was a body, and IF there was a crime scene, evidence would have to lead to a suspect. Even though modern forensic science can lead almost any crime scene to a suspect, Dexter and Masuka would probably work forensics on the case anyway. So... yeah. He only ditched most of his things when he couldn't control the trail between himself and the crimes.

Hey guys! Think I found a little bit of proof (with pictures!) of the Small Bone Saw being a modified Large one.
This picture is from Season 2 Episode 10, right when Dexter puts Doakes' fingerprints on the Kill Tools.

Then, in the next Episode, when they drag them up from underwater. Notice one Bone Saw is Small now.

I think this MIGHT be some kind of proof that it was modified right? What do you guys think?

In all honesty we should piece together the kill bags from each season since they are all different.I think I'm gonna put together a Season 2 kill bag since the kill knife and spatula will be too expensive for right now.If we go with a season 2 bag we can have more of a complete accurate set and all we have to do is modify the bone saw.I'm sure we can find the scissors in the picture along with an electric bread carving knife.

Thoughts?
