Dexter Season Six (SPOILERS)

its quite a possibility if he doesn't hide it, these are all questions we are going to be asking for the next 9 months which sucks. i don't care what people say about season 6, wether it was good or not, just that it put something in motion we have been waiting for a long time!

Well, yeah, but it remains to be seen how far they take that. You'd have thought that the end of Season 4 put "something in motion" in the form of Rita's death, but we basically got Dex feeling glum for 1 or 2 episodes, and then back to normal with a new girl.

Frankly, I just don't trust the writers to necessarily follow through on ANYTHING beyond a couple of episodes. At least based on past experiences, anything they set in motion will net you a few episodes, but it's always subject to the hand-waive/reset-button moment later in the season where it just doesn't matter much.

You'd have thought Brother Sam was really getting through to Dex, but then OOPS! He's dead, Dex loses it, and adopts Brian as his conscience. Oh, but don't worry, that's only for an episode or two also, and then it's back to normal.

You'd THINK that this would be a HUGE event, but then...you'd think that Brian becoming Dexter's minds-eye advisor would also be huge. It wasn't, though.

I'm not saying they WON'T pay it off effectively, mind you. I'm just saying don't go into it assuming they WILL pay it off in a big way. You really don't know for sure, certainly based on how the writers have handled things previously.

very very true, i'm just hoping they pull their heads from their asses to finish the final 2 seasons off proper. I just really don't want it to end with dex in jail, or dead because of his change towards all he really wants is to be a good father towards harrison which i think can get him to finally get rid of his dark passenger. Its just that Dexter hasn't really tried to give it up except in season 2 but like you said the "reset button" was hit and he was back to being and i quote "a re-dedicated serial killer"
we can only hope. but La Guerta being all friendly again towards Deb and telling her to put her job first may **** with Debs head about knowing what Dex is even though she is in love with him, hopefully she will see will see through that, and it possibly be that the therapist is on La Guerta's side to molding Deb into whatever she wants, thus deb getting rid of the therapist, and La Guerta eventually finding out through the therapist what Debras brother really is, since she seems to be putting together all the pieces slowly. just my opinion.
in the mean time, i'm going to try and get the new Dexter book and see what happens in that to see if its anything good and if so hope the writers take even a few queues from that

but the next season BETTER start off right exactly where they left off, not days later or something like that, we need to have some slow episodes where Dex and Deb talk through all this thouroughly.

So in the new book someone is shadowing him, observ*ing him, and copying his methods....next season maybe, Louis???? quite possible, that is if the writers go off the new book even a little.

see i'm still pumped, i''m holding on to that little bit of faith they pulled head from ass, now if this next season sucks i wont care about the last, just sad how our favorite show took a huge flush down the toilet. we can only just hope as i keep saying

Thing is, im glad he "got over" Rita so quick, he's a psycho a predator, as he imitates human emotions. Yes he has been getting a little more emotion but then bam nothing, where you would expect a normal person to be distraught obviously dexter wouldn't be. Its explained when the neighbor is more upset then he is. I say get off the writers backs alittle. Quite frankly I love every ep of dexter, yes even the brian take over. It just showed how a psycho may blow off steam. Think of a normal person loosing it, throws the remote yells at the mrs.... now what would you do if you where a Psychotic Sadist that has been hiding it for ever... you'd loose your mind? It showed how unstable he really is, plus Its still dexter talking to him self. it may look like brian or his father but it shows he's bat**** crazy. The reset button just shows he can try and make progress ...then the "dark passenger" resets and he goes right back into being a very neat monster. (Theway it should be) The last thing I want is for dex to be cured. He's got seriouse mental issues and I want it to be his undoing. . Imo.

i loved the brian episode myself, dexter hauling a$$ down the higway shooting a gun at street signs jamming out to music (when we have never seen him into music...ever!!) but i must admit that Biney was rather annoying after some time. was glad dex got rid of him.

Pfff Homeland wins a golden globe for best tv series "drama" i don't know if im alone here or not, i watched the first episode and the last and from watching the first episode i already knew what was going to happen. I'm personally tired of "terrorist" shows. "24" was the best when it came to that. But i thought breaking bad or game of thrones should have won, and atleast Bryan Cranston should have won best actor. just my opinion

Thats the problem. He only seems to be a psychopath when it is convenient for the story.

If he didn't care for Rita at all and has no feelings for other people, then what about the feelings he developed for Julia Stiles?

Either make him a psychopath or don't. But don't flipflop back and forth whenever the plot calls for it.

I believe he did grow feelings for Rita, being a psycho doesnt entirly mean you have no emotion its just harder for them to feel them. Search Dennis Rader he's alot like dexter... and may explain alot about dexters situation. There are alot of killers that blend in. Dennis here lasted 31 years with out being caught and was highly recognized in his church. Had a wife and two kids Just because he suffers from psychopathy doesn't mean he's riding the dark passanger 24/7. Dexters story is actualy very good psychology like so many real serial killers, they should not be sterio typed. Even a quick search of psychopathy may alos explain all the different types of psychopathy.

Also read the psychology of dexter. A book made up of psychiatrists showing there opinion on Dexter. It makes it seem scary real. Even to the point of him dismembering his victims. May not just be for disposal but apart of the ritual. As his mother got chopped up with a chain saw in front off Him... you will notice the similarity in the ITK dismembering his victims just like dex. The book brings to light the little things.

sounds more like Arthur Mitchell than dex.

He does aye :lolbut just pointing out how he didnt show psychopathic tendancys 24/7 and was caught as i said 30 somthing years after his first kill.

The long island case that i read last year also had the discription of "likley to be smart and well respected may know police procedure". I dont believe he/she is anything like dexter only that he is a serial killer and may possibly be that of a predator. No disrespect to any of the victims, as it is horrible and a current issue. Just an example to get my point across. Another example could be Ed Gien another killer, a sweet old man no one suspected.

IMO the story lines are perfect cant have Dexter running around for 50 minutes every ep killing people... hes a serial killer not a mass murderer, they dont usualy last too long.... certainly not 6 seasons :lol

the sickest person i ever read about was albert fish. Dexter is Superman compared to him. ugh a truly sick *******.

They are all ****** up.
Even dexter is lmao but we love him :p Even if he kills an innocent, be it by accident or urge we just shrug it off. Plus we know he kills bad people but we just dont see alot of it lol i dont know how many would still like dexter after seeing him prepare his victims... stripping them... glad wrapping them. we see him initialy killing them yes, but its very clean...we dont see him dismembering them limb by limb we get a glimps of it once if i recall... in the boxing ring... but he still only dropped a stump. IMO we probably wouldnt be so fond of him if we actualy got to see it all happen lol. Why i like the show so much but, hes an anti-hero we shouldnt like him.(its the same with nightmare on elm street... when does any one cheer for the victim. a sick ass child murderer gets made into toys. our society is wierd i tells ya) Thats whats so dangerous about the real killers they too are often very persuasive charming and likable.

well the only true person to see Dexter cut off limbs in the series was Lumen, oh and Doakes but from behind the plastic sheeting. He never let miguel see that part of him.
Like he says "i'm not ready to share that part of the ritual with him yet." BUT honestly to up the anty a bit, i think they should show it once before its over, let us see the whole process, and it won't make us dislike him, we already know its happening. At this point with Deb now knowing, i saw anything should go with the show as long as the writers pull their head out of their asses, and I pray they end it right. I really don't want our favorite killer dead in the end unless he ends up having to give his life to save Deb and Harrison. but still i would be upset that he dies in the end.

True very true. Bro take note the psychology was written just after season 3 so only has examples of the first 3 seasons.

I wont mind dexter getting capitol punishment with harry watching and saying you should have followed my rules dexter i tired to keep you out of that chair... and dexter yelling back at him... then it could cut to "real life" and have dexters yelling at no one and the couple of people witnessing see dexter talking/yelling at no one could be kinda cool, but only at the very end of the series!.

as long as it doesnt turn into a prison break show... if one season is dexter in jail i probably be put right off unless they can really pull it off. but a plus side would be if they dont kill dex some one crazy may attempt to continue the series in years to come... highly doubt it but hay it might happen lol
