Delorian Owners: I Need your Help!

I'm modding a 1:24 scale BTTF Time Machine model (the Aoshima edition used to make the later AMT version) to have one of the doors open so I can position the Marty Figure next to it like in the poster.

I've done dozens of Google image searches, and looked on various fan sites like BTTFparts.com and such. However, I cannot find any clear images of the inside of door or the areas around it. I know I'm going to need to sculpt some of the inner car frame, and the only shots I have of those are fairly small.

I know at least a few of you guys out ther eown Delorians. Can anyone take some good shots of an open door area??? I'd be most greatful.

Let me wait until morning when the light is better and I will get you some pictures with the doors open...

Probably I better confess to a cruel joke, I dont actually have a Delorean, But I do know a guy here in Havasu that owns one..I will see him monday and I get some pics of this thing for you

I'd like thos epics too. back in 1991, I got the 3 delorean pack from ERTL and thought "hey, it would be great to open one of the doors.

Biy that was a mistake.

Also, does anyone have a pic of what the underside of a delorean looks like?

You know a owner in Havasu? We would love to know who they are. I am part of the Arizona DeLorean Club here in the greater phoenix area. There might be pics on our site. Check our old site at az-d.org and new one az-d.org/DMC . There might be pics around there for your needs.

Something like this:

That's my friend's delorean. They've got more pictures from owner's meetups here: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/raggletag01/DMA Summer Fun Run/ and here: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y85/raggletag01/DCS 2008/?start=20

I may have some other shots sitting around if you can't find anything in those albums. :thumbsup

Here is a site with good up close pics that may help.

There is also a 1/24 die cast Delorean made by Welly that has opening doors. The detail is good in some areas and not so great in others. Below is a link to one on Amazon.

I will try to post some side-by-side comparison pics between the die cast Welly, old Ertl/Aoshima and Polar Lights kit when I get a chance..

Sorry for all the pics. This may give you another option other than scratch building all the insides of the doors. You would still have some detail work though. I figured at the time that mixing parts from all three offerings would give me a more detailed kit. Like everything else I never finished what I started.

Thanks for the link Tobiasrichter. I saved several of the pics for when I start on my build again.
