And now for something completely different... 1964 Chevy El Camino

My Dad turned a 1960 Dodge (not AMC) Matador into an El Camino type car-truck after some fool broke the back glass

I wish I had the means to make a replica of that—the neighborhood kids called it the Batmobile

I'm calling the interior done. Other than some touch up before final assembly and some photo etch door handles and gas/break pedals I plan on using, it's good to go. It's not perfect, but I'm extremely pleased with how it came out. I also got the rear brake drums and front discs/calipers painted. Now I'm working on getting the bodywork done.

It's been a minute since I last posted, but I'm closing in on the finish line. I've got almost all of the painting done except for some touch ups and a few minor details and I'm almost ready for final assembly. I also found a display case with inductive LEDs and am adding some simple lighting.

As it currently sits. The trim was a major pain in the butt to mask, but it came out pretty well and really starts to make it pop.

The final 3D printed parts came off the Mars last night. A badge for the display, and custom mirrors. The badge is a replica of the actual rear quarter panel badges on the '64.

99% Done. I just need to get some gloss black on the mirrors and glue them on. There are some minor flaws under magnification, but from a normal viewing distance, I think it looks fantastic! I think my Father in Law is going to be extremely happy tomorrow.
