Re: Robo3687's IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

how will you assemble this PDF helmet on your mac? Sure you can join the numbers but there sure are a lot of small pieces you'll need to basically guess at times. It will take forever to also find the piece to join to another one.

Get a PC or a program for mac that runs windows on it. Also, I don't know what program that would be but I'm sure it exists and probably has been asked in this thread already so have a look or search on google.

Does anybody have a good method at making the the neck piece able to be easily taken on and off. I plan on assembling it normally the cutting a seam down the back where I will put Velcro. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Luckily I have a small PC net-book that can run pepakura but can't print.

I made the neck joint here, since its foam, youll just pop the piece around your neck, attach with velcro and your good. neck joint.PNG

Ok, I found a roll of grey foam at home depot
so something around 7 meter X 1 meter should be enought
thanks

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and to the Pepakura costume build. From what I've seen this looks really fun and awesome work by everyone doing this.

I'll post images as I move forward with the iron man costume.

Oh and are the holes for your legs in the cod large enough so you can slip it on or should I put a seam in that too? Also, should the abs be connected to the cod or chest piece or neither?

I've downladed "IRON MAN - HELMET- SHARKBEETLE - Foam Edit -STEALTH -A4 Version" and I realized some parts are out of the paper.
Anyone having this problem? How do I fix it?

They are parts that don't need to be printed. What you print out are templates for cutting the foam. Only one side of the helmet is needed for templates and flip them over to use for the other side. There are also small parts that aren't needed because the thickness of the foam can create those details.
Recommend you view Stealth's tutorials and all becomes clear.

Ah I think I got it now. Been watching Stealth's tutorial since just now. Not really confident about pepakura's scaling and etc. But will have a look around.
Thanks for your reply!

Pepping can be tricky at times, but its ok once you get the hang of it. Untill you get to the hands... I swear my hands magically change when I rescale the gloves so they just don't fit no matter what.

Here is attempt at making the helmet. I just finished up the foam work and now have to seal it with the spray version of Pod Podge and then paint it. It came out OK but it is a little large. Any tips on this would be great. If I can I will redo the helmet after I have done the rest of the suit and make it to the proper size. If you think it is bad remember this is my first ever build using Pepakura and I am only 13 years old. If anybody was wondering I made this out of 6mm thick craft foam from Michaels. Its $0.99 per sheet and I used about 4 and a half sheets total (the sheets are 9" x 12").

What thickness of foam is everybody using to make the neck piece? I could either go out and buy more 6mm or use the 3/8" foam I already have.
