Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

I think the 2 lb would be fine.

Do you have an Academy Sports and Outdoor? they have the same foam for the same price

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

never heard of academy sports lol. We have a bunch of gun shops. Shooting ranges and courses. A few different race tracks. One week a year they close down a mile radius to make a race track. For Indy 500 road race type. There is a few bike shops left. Not many. I live in a retirement type town. I
all we do is race and shoot some paper...skating boarding bikes... All illegal on the sidewalks here. We get tickets carrying a skateboard in some areas.

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Thanks man, took me a lot of time to get there x) Any pics of your helm ?

I think i'll go with stealth pva glue methode, i don't want to spend to much on a suit i will wear only one or two times in a year.
I did it mainly for fun and hope you'll do as well.

I'm gonna make a video on the lights for the eyes. You'll see it there more in depth.

and I have I have to say, I'm very impressed with your armor.
You make us all so proud.

It looks amazing and it's not even painted yet.

I may help you as you have the same body as mine :lol
Here's exactly what I had to re-scale (or not) so my suit would fit me perfectly :

Helmet : default
Neck : default
Brace : default
Collar : default
Shoulder : default
Chest : default
Back : default
Abs : default
Biceps : -10%
Forearms : -10%
Gauntlet : -10%
Cod : default
Thigh : -10%
Shin : -10%
Boots : default

Hope it helped you man :)

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Here are some progress by the way.
Just finish the gauntlets and it wasn't easy, mainly because they are compose of small pieces and that I had to cut the foam to decrease the thickness.

I like when it fits nice a clean :)
Here's some pics :

Your costume looks great and fits near perfect.

I'm the same height as you, but i'm thin and have long arms and legs. I'm concerned about the costume being too short if i shrink the arms and legs. Might be a strange question, but how long are your arms....armpit to elbow bend, and elbow to wrist? It would help me to see if it would still fit me well.

Thanks

If your using Pep designer to scale your pieces just leave them long enough for your arm. ;)

Yeah it does sound weird :lol

Armpit to elbow : 11 inches
Elbow to wrist : 9.8 inches

I'm actually 141.09 lbs so i'm pretty fit for my height too.

I would still recommend you to decrease the scale of the original files.
The biceps came out way too big and the rescale version was even a little too wide for me, I had to add extra layers inside so it would fit properly.
Guess Iron Man has big biceps :lol

Or maybe mine are small :lol

Thanks, i think it will work better for me to shrink the arm. And i'll definately need padding, my arms are pretty much muscle free.

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Sup' guys !
I started the sealing process yesterday with Wood glue mixed up with water but I have a problem :/

This morning i went to see how it was going but the coats of glue started to crack pretty easily.. I applied around 5 coats on my helmet and when i tried it, the glue cracked..

I'll update some pics later but for those who sealed their suit with the pva method, did you had similar issues ?
Maybe i should just applied more and more coats until I finnally got a flat surface to paint on ? :/

Any thaughts ?
