Deflection Tower Diorama - Star Wars

I got the Bandai trench set and I couldn't find a way to display the trench that I liked. I did like however laying out the tiles into a flat base, and I got the idea to have the display surrounded around a deflection tower probably from my love of the Rogue Squadron II video game.

I'm making the tower from scratch because I felt that would be less work than sanding off the panels of the existing gun tower.

I also cut down the gun tower because I thought it looked ridiculous being so tall.

And the x wing that comes with the kit is way, WAY too big. So I made a little one (which is not finished! I know the nose is too wide). I want to have multiple x wings, and maybe some ties and a y wing.

Here are a couple bonus shots.

Thanks for looking!

Nice!

That size X-wing really does look much better in that setting than the larger 1/144

If you had to guess at a scale, what would it be? maybe around 1/500?

I was thinking of doing one of these using the mircomachine X-wings and Ties (they are pretty much the same size as the FFG X-Wing miniatures whihc are about 1/270) but even those seem a little large

I think we see a flyby scene with two X-Wings going past one of the tower and from what I remember it pretty much matches what you came up with. Also, if you look at last photo you posted the and guestimate the size of the pilot, it fits well with the 'ladder' along the top section of the tower...

Is this the fly-by scene you mean?
