Deadpool WIP 90% Fin (with photoshoot... sort of)

Re: Deadpool WIP (Finally with Pics!)

Well, as I procrastinate with the hood, I decided to make a DP Buckle :D

It may be a little off what is the classic look, but I'm happy with it. It's layered then wrapped around with a thin craft strip. For more pics check out my fb page in my signature :D

p.s. It will be sealed and painted the right colors, don't worry :p

Re: Deadpool WIP (Finally with Pics!)

I don't have any pics, but I got to doing the mock up of the hood last night. My mother has been a huge help with this (I am clueless with sewing) and she's said she'll help me with the finished hood as well :D So hopefully more pics later, I'm excited to get the mask part done :)

Re: Deadpool WIP (Finally with Pics!)

ALRIGHTY!!! Ordered the swords, the only thing that's left is a trip to walmart for the boots and the red vest (though, I may have another idea for that...).

I hope to make this as 'real' as possible. Here is the pics of hood so far!

And here is a mock of what it should look like when it's put together!

I just have give a huge thank you to my mother for sewing this for me. I'm pretty clueless with sewing and she's great at this stuff. Got to love parents :)

Hope you guys like it :D

Re: Deadpool WIP (Finally with Pics!)

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I don't care it's only an hour later :p )

DSC_0266[1].jpgDSC_0265[1].jpg

The hood is finished. All that's left now is to it to the mask and to glue the eyes to the inside of the mask, then FINISH! From there on I just have to pick up a few things and wait for my purchases to arrive :D

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

Thanks :) I've got an awesome family :) . I'm running into a problem with aattaching the material to the mask. The spray adhesive I got isnt going to work. Does anyone know if plain hot glue will work and not ruin the look of the fabric?

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

Great looking build so far! If you or anyone else is looking for a Metal Deadpool Belt Buckle, I have a small run of custom cast buckles. They are the classic style. Please PM me or look for a future post in the junkyard soon. Good luck with the rest of the build! It's looking good!

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

Why not get a Heat Fusible strip especially meant for fabric? Something similar to how Patches are ironed on? All glues I've had experience with have bled through fabric (since it absorbs). Hot glue will probably bleed through the fabric also.

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

Yeah, I was afraid of the hotglue :( I'll have to look into the strips. I live in a art-less part of the states and I probably would have to order those, but who knows, HL or Joanne's may have them :p The only problem I see is that the fabric may burn (being lycra) :(

About the buckle, I'll take a look, but for right now I'm going to have to stick with the foam buckle. Although, I'll definitely be upgrading this suit as soon as I have the money (guns, grenades, chimichangas....) :D

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

hey that suit is looking great so far!

do you have any templates for your mask? because that mask looks amazing!

Can't wait to see the final project

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

Yeah, I like to see how it will all look together, plus those swords looked awesome XD I may have to grab a pair

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

I am sort of confused. this may just be in the rules for some Cons, but the cons I have been to have issues with metal swords, even if they are squared off edges, and not sharp in the least. if you are planning on this for Con use, you may want to look into the rules with the swords... which is sad because those swords are great.

It was industrial adhesive, so I don't know if that was to blame (or if I sprayed too much on a material that doesn't hold that type glue well (craft foam)), all I know is, I got about a month to pull all of this together! AGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks :) For the patterns.... ah.... I drafted the patterns after looking at some pictures of Todd Cook and KnowOne's Designs' DP Mask (just google and you'll find ;) ). I won't be 'releasing' any templates because of all of the inaccuracies I found in it. (I was actually trying to go for a point in the back, but it ended up just going round instead :p )

Well, I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think as long as they are sheathed, I don't think they'll throw a fuss (and hey, unless they make me take them out they aren't going to see them anyway :p ) and they are unsharpened, so... if anything I won't get 'in trouble' for any of it... just probably have to wear another badge for admittance or leave them in the car...

Dude I can't wait till my camo's come in :D then I'm really going to get excited!

I have a problem (several, but we aren't discussing those lol) about the red tee. Should I cut/rip out the sleeves or leave them? As you can see in the pic, one sleeve has slipped from being tucked under and the other is about to follow :p I'm thinking about ripping the seems myself, but I don't know how well it would go with my limited sewing skills....

Also! If anyone know of any non-absorbing fabric adhesive link so I'll know what I'm looking for lol

Thanks everyone!

Re: Deadpool WIP (Fabric hood finished!)

Another update, a bittersweet one :(

I got my swords today! AWESOME!...

Found out today.... Gen Con does not alloy ANY weapons that look like real weapons AT ALL.

So NOW.... 70 something dollars.... for Halloween at best :(

AND the belt/pack is starting to come undone after a few hours of wear :angry

Yeah.... day just keeps getting better... can't wait until it's over :'(
