Thanks And this is just the basic 'loadout' one of these days I'm going to get more to add to the costume, shoulder pads, elbow guards, maybe even shin and forearm guards and additions like.... *cough* guns? maybe an ammo belt or two and holsters, but that's in the future. Thanks for the thumbs up

Okay.... I'm a bit lost with the chest part of the costume. To me it needs a bit more, it just looks to simple and I don't know really what I should add .

I could make an armor vest with shoulder pads, but as a friend pointed out. "Why does DP need pads?" so.... I know I could make them (then paint them in a color scheme to match deadpools design, and attach with elastic), or I could go buy a motorcycle vest and mod that to what I need and throw in some sort of mag pouches and grenade clips.....

Since it looks like a more realistic version of Deadpool, here is an idea for gloves: try and find a army surplus store that has combat tac gloves (with the rubber knuckles) and try painting them red, I have no idea how well this will work (color wise) or if you will have any luck finding them, but i think it would look pretty good on your suit.

I've got an idea already for the gloves, by using a red army issue, kevlar knuckled style, it's just the rig that I'm having problems with, I'll be dropping by a motorcycle store soon, then we'll see what transpires with that. I'm also looking for any knee length padded boots (like motorcycle pads) as well as any thigh holsters it would be appreciated

Sadly no. I've been working ten hour days all week and will be working until Gen Con starts which I'll be wearing this bad boy. When I get home I'll upload a concept of the chest padding I have been debating to use or not out of eva foam (underneath red shirt, over black undershirt), as the chest really is going to need something, as I doubt they'll let me bring in my swords

Thursday is the con. I won't be allowed to bring in the swords (only during the contest will they be allowed, and there's no worry about the belt for it, the part that's popped isn't invalidating), I'm going to go to town tomorrow and see if I can't find something for a substitute. I can't wait to do the final dressing Wednesday and get some pics to show you guys and girls! I've bought two arm guards and a rib flack jacket that will go around and solve the plane ness of the chest piece, I'm getting excited and TERRIFIED of the Convention XD I just have to make it through 2 days of ten hour shifts at work and do some last minute repairs on the mask and the suit, then I'll be ready I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just checked a few websites thinking that you could find a toy sword that will work, with some mild modification (could probably be done with a knife) you could modify a NERF sword to work well enough for a con, thin PVC ad foam would have to be let in

Sorry I disapeared guys. Gen Con came. And I've been swamped I had so much fun, I think I convinced every other cosplayer to try Deadpool as their next.... maybe I didn't do such a good thing... XD

I was caught in multiple Gen Con parades, along with four other DEADPOOLS!!!! (three were with me and one was tagging along in the back lol)

I ended up using party city swords, I modified the handles and they worked fine :/ I still wish I could have used my real ones XD
