deadpool mask questions

I have my costume pretty much ready, I just need to put some soles on the bottom of the feet and do something with the mask. As the title states, this is Deadpool. It's a spandex bodysuit w an attached cowl that zips up the back.
I plan on making an eye mask/ face shell type of thing, so my question is how should I attach it? I am leery of using a glue or adhesive that close to my face, especially my eyes, so I was thinking that maybe if I use a softer foam or maybe even leather could I sew it in place?
any advice is much appreciated.

Sounds a little bit tricky with a mask that's attached to the body.

What I'd recommend is actually a hard plastic with holes punched in. Or a rubber. I'm using a Kane (WWE) mask I bought at Target as a base for my Deadpool mask. It's rubber, $12, and I can punch holes into it and then stitch the spandex into place where I like it. Something like that would be best because it's rigid and will be easier to get the fabric to line up where you want. Thick leather could work too, but then you have to wet-mold it to the shape you want, and it won't be an easy process.

I know what mask you're talking about, I almost got it because it is the shape is perfect, but it was kinda of hard and I didn't think it would work for this costume. Although I may get it and use it for another mask that I make from scratch, but thanks for the advice.

Did you need this by halloween? I may have an option for you that won't require sewing or a adhessive
