Deadmau5 Head

I thought I'd just post some pics of two heads that I've made... one of which was a green lantern style for my brother. Hope you like.

The head my 11yo son and I made together for him for halloween this year. He wanted to replicate the neffmau5 head, but lacking the skill to use carbon fiber we modified last years evil head.

I want to buy a Deadmou5 head for my son, he wants this for halloween. Are you located in Miami? how much is the cost. Thank you
:confused

After much research and deliberating, I finally finished my head in time for Halloween! I learned alot and will be going back in to fix some things I had to rush, so I found what worked and what didn't. I thank everyone that made a post as it helped immensely. Please feel free to reply if anyone has question on how to build one.

On with some pics!

Hey i don't know if anybody checks this post anymore, but i want to make a mau5head and was wondering how far out the eyes go... i see the 4.5 inch balls are used for the eyes but i don't see anything about how big the holes that the eyes come of... thanks

Some great mau5heads here. Starting my own soon although clear globes are hard to come by in the UK so I will be having to substitute it for something else. Should be fun.

With regard to the eyes, I cut the holes in the main globe and pushed the eye-globe out from the inside until it was essentially flush to the inside surface. You only need half of a 4.5" globe, such as what they use for ornaments. You can then use hot glue or whatever to glue the edge of the eye-globe to the inner main globe surface around the perimeter. Make sense?

New to the forum, but have been lurking for quite sometime. Anywho, here are a few of the projects I'm working on.

Is that real carbon fiber or black fiberglass? Either way, it's absolutely SICK!

Loving the cheese head and your Guy-Man dome too.

Thanks alot! The carbon fiber one is 100% real 2x2 twill carbon fiber. It's been a fair amount of work, but hoping to have it completed within the next few weeks.

DAMN. That stuff isn't cheap either. Props for having the cojones to do that kind of work in such a costly material. I would have cheaped out with black 'glass myself.

Ive been lurking for a while and I had to make an account just to ask this.
Im planning on making a mau5head, and should be ordering materials in the next month.
After looking through countless tutorials and videos, I have been thinking of how I would go about making one, so on to my question:

For the mouth, I plan on using the acrylic from the mouth cut out and tinting it, instead of using a mesh with fabric over it. How would I go about doing this, and if I cant, Is there reasons why I should not do this?

If this had been answered, id like a link to the answer please. Sorry for imposing on anything. Thanks in advance

This was my first attempt at making a Mau5 head. It took about 2 months of spare time while juggling full time college, work and a girl friend. I did the base with paper mache and used Cd's to look like mosaic tile. Also the LEDs in the eyes got to audio. Its a little heavy on my head but other than that I love it. The next one I do I'm gonna try to have a sound bar in each ear with Blu-tooth so I can have my music play thru it. IMG_0969.JPG
