Hello guys! I'm a bit new to pepakura and I wanted to ask, what is the best way to make pepakura stronger, besides using fiberglass? Will paper mache work? :eek
And by the way, darkside501st, you are like a GOD, the suit is amazing and when i saw it for the first time on pics i was literally speechless! keep up the good work!

Paper-mache will stiffen the card stock but it doesn't meet the strength requirements for a lasting costume. You can coat the card stock in a liquid urethane plastic like Smooth-On 300. But Fiberglass cloth and resin is the strongest option.

VIPs will get 2 months early access when the files are done. Since I wont be releasing one part at a time (that is why the V1 files have some trouble fitting together) then I can't send out the parts that are done because they aren't really done until the whole suit is done. I will release the LD version before I release the HD version. So VIPs will get the LD version when it is done and then the HD version when that is done. Then 2 months after the LD version is done I will release it to everyone and 2 months after the HD version is done I will release that to everyone. This way I can be sure that everything fits perfectly.

@ jackieisrockin - That is quite a compliment and I can assure you that I made this model, lol I think this model will be great for pepakura but the poly count is not quite high enough for a high quality movie production like the Avengers.

So I will be sharing all the V2 files the same way I did the V2 Helmet. The VIPs will get a special link to the files. The files will not be public at first. The VIPs can request a specific scale if it is not already available.

This process means less work for you guys but more work for me. However, it is the only way I can share the files with you all and protect my work.

hey darkside, is it possible to get a .93 size for the helmet in pepakura and in letter? .91 is a tight fit (makes the side of the helmet bulge out) and the .95 looks enormous on me.

The best way to estimate the scale of helmet you need is to use the width of your head as a guide. Set the tester helmet a little wider and see if it fits ok. You will have to cut a slit in the back (like a Halloween mask). The real helmet has a removable section on the back.

So I made the testing helmet with its default scale. I have no idea about how these things fit but this one seems a little bit big for my head.
I have printed these on A4 with adjusting the print settings in designer, I dunno if it changes anything on scale.

Yup that does look a little big but not much. If the program said something like 'The the print lines are out side the print area. Do you want to adjust?' and you click yes then is will change the scale... it will shrink it. If it didn't say that then the scale is accurate. So adjust the scale down a little and try again.

Is it possible to share with me scale 0.885 size for the Mark VII foam helmet template? I am really small built and the helmet I built using the .95 scale was too large for the body and my head
