you can't scale it yourself with pep viewer... to get a different scale you have to post the requested scale and Darkside will upload it

if you have pep designer you can find the right scale by downloading the tester helmet

I have the designer and the test helmet. BUt i couldnt find the scale option in the program. Can you show me where it is ?

You have to go in "2D Menu" then "Recalculate Parts Layout..." or "2D Menu" -> "change scale" -> "scale factor..."

It opens a new window where you can change the scale factor or give a specific value for height, width or depth.

Yep I saw the scale guide on the first page. So I guess it's safe to presume that if the brace fits at a certain scale, then if I build the chest/back to that same scale it would fit..?

Personally, I started with the chest. I saw it fitted me so I built the brace with the same scale. I found it easier to start with the chest because you can check with reference pics if the size is good. But, unless you have a really muscular triangle-shaped chest, the size given by Darkside is accurate. For my body, the two problematic parts were the abs and cod.

Oh and a follow up question on your build...how'd the COD piece go? Did you have to scale it differently from the abs, back and chest? And if so, how well do they fit together (being at different scales and all)?

I had to upscale the cod piece cuz it didn't fit me at all at my scale. I can't answer the second part of your question though. I haven't done the abs part yet and it will need an upscale too. With the measures only, it seems to fit, but final result may always vary

I was wondering if the 1 and .095 scales are ok for a 1.85 m tall man ?

The best way to estimate the scale of helmet you need is to use the width of your head as a guide. Set the tester helmet a little wider and see if it fits ok. You will have to cut a slit in the back (like a Halloween mask). The real helmet has a removable section on the back.

I wouldn't use the brace as a good judgement of scale... since the brace just sits on your shoulders then several different scales might seem like they would fit.

The cod can be a bigger scale than the other parts if needed but not smaller.

I see. I kinda felt it there would be too much deviation in the possible sizes of the brace to use as a basis for scaling the other parts. Thanks for clarifying

my progress on my gauntlets.

i just cut out the hand pieces last night. gotta put it together.

i'm just a little nervous with the fingers, they look like they are going to be a pain in my arse to a. cut b. put together and c. strengthen with fiber glass.

any advice guys?

ps: i feel like the hand plate doesnt match up quite right to the lower forearm piece like so...

I used a little guess, test, and revise. Just print one out that has the lower handplate groove matching the groove on the gauntlet. Chances are, unless you have tiny hands, the top wont match. I printed out a larger size of the top half to make sure when all was lines up, it covers up my knuckles and the backhand as well.

Just use a little magic and it will look perfect.

I wanted to ask some help before i start. This is the first piece of the test helmet. I have some confusion about where to cut and fold.

243 and 244 and the small piece between them. I cut the 243 straight line and 244. Fold dashed lines and leave the little piece there ?

I believe that you cut out that little diamond. It's the same as cutting out the triangles between each tab, it just looks a bit funny because the tabs are on opposite sides. Hope that helped?

Well, when the cut lines and fold lines are so closed together, I prefer to fold than to cut. If I haven't at least a couple millimeter to properly fold a tab, I find it easier to treat it as a fold line.

So in theory, you have to cut as krizalid says. In practice, you'll may choose to fold those or cut and add a tab under those parts.

When the lines are that close together I would fold them although technically that is a cut line. If you do cut it, you will need to add an extra bit of card underneath to connect the 2 sides. The choice is yours really

Hi guys, nice progress from many colleagues in their costumes.

I'm still alive and fighting hard to assembly the back.

I'm documenting all the process and thinking to create a topic to show many tips about the assembly, very detailed topic about this:

- How to scale (technics)
- Material and tools, what use and technics
- Organization of the cutted parts (in my case, living in a very small apartment it is very very important)
- Electronic parts (what use, arduino and etc.)
- Fiber process applying
- Finishing
- and much more.

Did you understand? What do you think about? Every detailed step in only one material.

I would like to have your help to mix the best ideas in this material.

And to finish I would like to get the permission from Darksider to do this considering that he is the responsible to able us start this amazing project.

hey darkside, is it possible to get a .93 size for the helmet in pepakura and in letter? .91 is a tight fit (makes the side of the helmet bulge out) and the .95 looks enormous on me.

Just a suggestion, but to save money, in your printer settings, turn the Speed to Fast Print, and make the lines THIN before printing. This will save you ink, and overall, save you money.
