Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **Links Fixed and New Update**

I have been trying for 2 days straight to cut out this with my Craftrobo. has anyone else had any difficulties. The registration marks are not working out with the machine.

Well I don't know much about the Craft Robo... I have only used the Cameo. But id the two are anything like each other then you do have to play with it to get it to cut on the lines. It took me 3 or 4 pages to make the necessary adjustments in order to get it to cut on the lines.

You can ask Surreal Studios or check out this thread:

Can someone give me an idea for scaling? Im thinking I should build the tightest pieces first so I'm working with the abs. Unfortunately I got a little extra around the middle and I'm wondering if scaling up the abs will throw off the rest of the suit. How tall is the suit (typically) in the default scale(23). I'm 5'9" with 36" waist if anyone similar build can share some wisdom. I will continue to tinker and rebuild otherwise.

Ok, 36" waist is not that big. scale up the abs so that they fit your waist and then set the scale on the chest, back, and cod to the same scale. If the other parts are too big then you add a cushioning foam to fill in some gaps and make those parts sit right on you or can make minor adjustments to the parts so they fit around the abs and sill fit the rest of your body. You might have to 'play' with it.

Hi, I just completed the chest for my Mk VII but now I'm working on the back, from where to where should I measure myself on my back to get the resizing done at?

The bask should be the same scale as the chest. If the chest fits you good then you shouldn't have to sorry about the back.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **Links Fixed and New Update**

Yes, I set the default scale for a person of my stature. So scale 23 will fit someone who is between 5'5" to 5'8" but everyone is different and even I might have to rescale some pieces to fit my body.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is your build? Are you skinny, or...not so skinny. :D Short as well (only 5'3") and am also quite lean

I have a medium build and I am pretty proportionate for my size. In pictures I look taller than I am unless there is something in the picture that I can be scaled against, of course. lol You can see a pic of me on my profile or look me up on facebook.

Also, I wanted to say Thank you to Brad Hohl, aka GRINCH, for being a big supporter of my work and for his contributions to this project.

On a related note I have decided that everyone in the VIP section on my first post will get 2 months early access to my Mark VII Version 2 files. They are still a ways off but I wanted to let you all know so you have something to look forward to. I will send out PMs to all the VIPs when the Version 2 files are available. Again Thanks to all the VIPs!

is there anything we can make to get them too

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **New note in VIP section**

Ok, I'm about to start this suit in foam and it's the first I've ever done. So it's recommended you start with Abs and Neck?

Is there a particular place where I can get the Neck file? I didn't see it.
Also, I see some of these suits have chest braces too? Does this one need that as well?

I'm excited to get this started!

I am not sure what you mean? Please explain.

It is up to you if you want to wait for the version 2 files. They are more accurate but with a little work and ingenuity you can make the version 1 files more accurate as you build them too.

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **New note in VIP section**

Is there an easy solution when a piece is scaled up too much that it no longer fits on a sheet of paper? working on the lowest ab piece. but now the front section of the highest ab just barely fits, if I have to scale it up again it's gonna get cut off

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **New note in VIP section**

It's okay to print on two pages. Trim the excess margin, cut both pieces on two pages, then tape together. There are going to pieces no matter what scale that won't it on a normal sheet unless you are a smurf.

Duh! Okay that makes perfect sense, for whatever reason I wasn't seeing it. I feel slightly dumb for having to ask, but thanks!

Thanks, I wouldn't really say they are going to be more detailed but they will be more accurate and have a better shape to them. Also the parts will work better with each other.

Well, thank you... I think. lol

If you would like to donate something then you can get some info on that in the first post on my thread. Also, any donation will get your name put in the VIP section as a contributor and will get you early access to the V2 files.

Good luck with your build.
