Hey darkside, could you give me tips on how to properly scale the hand? Also fingers have same scale of the hand?

You should use the measurement tool to double check measurements for the scales.

.92 = Small
.94 = Medium
.98 = Large
1.0-1.2 = XLarge

Hello all, I was just building this pep in paper and when I got to the point where it came time to join the loops on the top of the back to the chest I notice there were noflush areas to do so and a lot of space empty. Is there a file I'm missing or did I do something wrong? Thanks

PS: sorry for the noob question, I've just started making these lol

what you need is the mark 4/6 brace and/or the neck. you could also fill in the gaps freehand if your up for it ;)

Just finish putting primer on my chest. For the chest I used 50/50 rondo: 1380422_10102140930080808_1211987739_n.jpg

Heey you guys!

This topic is getting big. Nice.
I am working in highspuit on my Mark VII suit at the moment. Upper body that is.
But i also decided after seeing some reference pictures of the real screen used pictures that i wasn't completly happy with my paintjob of the helmet.
So i decided to respray the faceplate to give it a real brushed gold effect like in the movie.

The outcome really made my day. :D:ninja

Let me know what you guys think.

I bought a chrome-gold spraycan. Wich gives you a really nice shiny gold finish.
Once that has dryed for about 3 or 4 days. I used a sanding sponge and gently start making scratches. Some edges applying more pressure.
Its quite easy but i think the result is about the best it gets.

ps. Does anyone know how i get thumbnails again for the pictures.. somehow it only shows the first pic as a thumbnail.

Sir you are a genius :D Can I ask you if you remember the RAL of the gold spraycan?

I dont have a RAL color for you.
The red i use for the top layer is manufactured by Motip. The color number is 51493. I google it and it should be ALFA ROMEO RED 132 or ACURA R-505P.
I also used a darker cherry-ish red as a base for the edges. The bright red is for highlihjting.
The Gold is from a manufacture for Interior design Paint. So its not really for outdoor use. The advantage however is that it will create an natural worn look when the suit is worn more often.

Heres a picture of the spray cans.

I wouldn't have imagined that the chrome paint would be so...well...not so reflective. Good to know as I can find this manufacturer in Belgium.

Hey guys,

Has anyone already created a wearable neck, using a fibreglassed model?
Because the solid object does not fit over ones head. And i dont like a rubber cast on.

Any suggestions how to make it wearable?
Im trying to figure out how to get the neck / brace / back / chest together. Not an easy task! :facepalm

I'm still working on that but I'm going to try hinges on the side/back of the neck and have it lock together in front with magnets

you could try that and tell me how it goes :)

So I tried to do as much pepping as possible before getting to the fibreglass stage, but the fiddliness of the V1 files (those grooves!) were just too much. Never mind. I'll wait patiently for the V2 files :)
