Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - Password in First Post

Hi Darkside,
Really having fun with my first pep, and I appreciate all your work.

Are you able to upload a .98 A4 helmet please?

I tried the tester .97 and it seemed to fit ok, but when i pepped the .97 'proper' it pressed really hard against my ears, so I guess I should go 1 higher.

Thanks again,
Chris

I'm not sure if you've pepped it already but there is a new tester helmet which gives you a better idea of scale and more accurately...

Thanks InCOGnito,
I have been using the tester helmet last modified:30/8 on Darkside Skydrive.
Is that the same file you are referring to?

What I have found is that the ear pieces on the tester don't intrude internally as much as the actual pep.

[EDIT]
I have seen there is a .98 in the Letter folder, may try to print that (without resizing) and see if all pieces still fit on the page...

I have loaded the .98 A4 in Pep

Two things I wanted to share:

First of all, I finished my first piece ever! It's a simple piece and it's not perfect but I'm still proud of it! The red may be a bit lighter, I'll try with white primer for the next piece!

The second thing is the PCB I designed for the eyes. Took me some time to learn electronics and PCB manufacturing all by myself but it gave me a good result!

Nice Dude :)

I would like to thank Vivalize for being a big supporter of my work and for your contributions to this project. Your name has been added to the VIP list and you will get early access to the V2 files when they are done.

Sorry for the french talking. I temporarily attached my PCBs to my V1 helmet (made a better one) to test the boards, the code and the space available.

It's bright enough so I'm pleased with the result!

Nice job mate :) I like the power up flicker you've got going on there. Was that deliberate or just a happy side effect because it looks sweet?

It is deliberate. Just a fading fonction in the code. Really simple but add so much badassness :) AND, I can adjust brightness of the LEDs within the code so I don't have to find other LED if I want a less bright version. I only have to change one value in the code. Pretty sweet!

Now that the electronics is done, I have to bondo the whole suit. Hope I can finish it for march 2014 (have to find a place to work bondo as the weather becoming colder). Damn, I'd love to live in a country with warmer winters :D Where's the global warming when you need it? :p

hey Mike

how is the modeling coming along ?
any new teasers ??

Just curious, man. Any idea when that might be?

Well, my life is pretty hectic right now. I am going through a tough time dealing with some personal family issues. It may be a while longer before I can finish it. Can't rush perfection.

That is pretty cool. It is almost the same as what I have been working on but mine will turn on/off when the faceplate is raised. I imagine that you are going to do that as well.

How did you embed the Youtube video? I have tried before and it didn't work for me.

hey darkside, could you upload a .94 v2 helmet in letter size please? thanks!

Sure, check the drive in a little while.

I'm going to use a reed switch in the chin and a magnet in the chest so I'll just have to nod my head to activate the opening and closing of the faceplate. The faceplate opens, the LEDs turn off. The faceplate closes and the LEDs turn on with the flickering.

For the video I used the "insert video" function ( [*video] [*/video] tags).
