Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - Password in First Post

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files - V2 Biceps Done pg 130!

Ey folks, finally got around painting my foam build. Used 5 coats of pva/water for sealing + grey primer + metallic blue base coat + metallic candy red. Overall im pretty happy with the red, i got that marroonish color that i was hoping for. I plan on changing the gold, coz its a little too yellow for my taste.

*question to the folks in the philippines, any idea what i can use to replace plastidip? I havent seen them available in any hardware i go to, also what kind of gold would you recommend thats locally available?
TIA

hey Mike

it's been a while since you have uploaded some new teaser pics... did you ever get to fixing this Iron Man pic 2.png

and also the double jointed elbow hinge that I suggested Mk VII Arm - 3 Idea.png
I'd love to know how that is coming along

Coated with resin, fiberglassed the inside earlier this evening. Halloween is just around the corner, so much work to do!

my brothers head is 24 inches and mine is 25 inches, if the 22 inches is .95 on the paperkura file, the 24 inches would be .97? anmd the 25 is .98?

Hello All! How is everyone doing? I hope everyone is great. I was wondering how everyone is going to put the suit on? I know some people are using buckles to connect everything and others aren't. I was looking at a lot of the back and chest pieces and noticed them connected together. What method is everyone using for that. I'm using the paper pep files. I noticed a lot of foam work out there as well which looks amazing. So I don't know if there is a difference between the two. Any help would be great. Thanks everyone.

im new to this guys, as this is my first post. i decided to build an ironman suit but not for me...... FOR MY SON! well he wants as he calls it "the SHINY ONE" reference to IROMAN 1 in developement mode. so i plan on taking these pep files and simplifying as much and where as possible.

my question is: i know theres a scale factor involved but has anyone tried scaling DOWN below that? obviously i will find out the hard way but just wanted some imput.

construction begins 9/24/13 :D i work better under pressure. ill post my progress....

hey man... welcome to the thread
what I'm doing is, I have a printout of the suit I'm building Unavngivet.png I measured it from head to toe then I took my height (your son's height) and divided the height of the pic with that... that will give you a magic number that you then can use to scale all of the parts... but make sure to add an inch or 2 too your son's height so that he will have grown in to it by the time it's done

hope that helps and good luck

Which suit do you mean? MK 2? You can use Dancin_Fool's MK 3 files for that suit. It's accurate to the MK 2. :)

I just finish everything in foam, and now I'll be coating the suit using Epsilon. Dad owns a machine shop, and he managed to cut me a prototype for the arc reactor :D. It's a tad to small though, but the next one should be snug.

Hi all,

I'm doing some thinking about materials for my helmet, and was considering cut metal. Has anyone got a version of the file without tabs?

Yesterday I finally painted the helmet!
Now only the electronics remain to be done! :D

my son originally wanted a Mk2 but now hes in IRON PATRIOT mode... so i think im gonna mix up the two. hes only 4 going on 5 and i think if the color scheme is on he wont notice :D

for scaling i used HaloGoddess' tutorial, seems good for now. measured my little guy yesterday.

where are you guys buying your foam from? what thickness are you using.

im barely printing out all the templates today. his suit first then if theres time, MINE :D ill post progress pix like everyone else ;)

Hi Darkside,
Really having fun with my first pep, and I appreciate all your work.

Are you able to upload a .98 A4 helmet please?

I tried the tester .97 and it seemed to fit ok, but when i pepped the .97 'proper' it pressed really hard against my ears, so I guess I should go 1 higher.

Thanks again,
Chris
