it has to do with bringing the movie to the Chinese market. If the movie has a few scenes in china then it is more likely to pass the cinema laws which state which movies can and cannot be played in Chinese theaters they did the same thing with Looper its a way to open the movie to a larger market. And help somewhat to cut down on the bootleg sale of the movie in china. Read about it in an article a bit ago.

Nice clean pep work u got. Hope u dont mind me saying and it may just be the picture but as your going to re pep I thought id point out that the middle top section. That comes from the vent and goes between the two top bits of the faceplate. Looks two raised on the picture. Like it seems to run alongside the face plate in your build. Where as its usually lowered slightly which would help the face plate slide over the piece if you were having it move. It may just be the picture and sorry if thats it. I only pointed it out as you said you were re building.
All the best

Hi guys,

I'm from Brazil and I'm trying to build my first Iron Man Suit. I would like to know if someone here has the suit scaled for 5'10" - 5'11" height.

To adjust the file in Pepakura Design I will need the password, and to scale in Pepakura Viewer, it is just possible to scale down. I have the file scaled to 23, but I'm taller than this.

Thank's in advance!

if your looking for the password for the V1 MK VII files read page one of this thread if your looking for the V2 files there not out yet and the password will not be released .the scale is something you have to find on your own. even if someone has them scaled to 5'10 no ones body is the same as the next persons so the files could fit you or not at all. this should help.

Xenon, I followed yor advice. Thx.

I'm preparing my project thinking in every problem that I could have, this way I am finding solutions in advance.

I will automate everything in the suit using arduino and voice command, but some simple things are let me worried. I will build my suit in fiberglass, it seems to have a better finish, but all the parts are very rigid as consequence.

I'm thinking with myself how to connect the parts and mainly, how to wear parts like the Abs that is totally closed in the circunference and by the pepakura files seemed to not be made in two parts like chest and back interfacing.

Do you know where could I find some tips for this questions?

Thx

Re: Darkside501st's Iron Man Mk VII pepakura files **Update Jan 3, 2013**

Just got back from a convention I went to this weekend. Sounds like you guys have been busy... lol I had like 80 PM's a handful of emails, FB msgs, and threads to get caught up on. I have been working on it for a few hours already. :facepalm:rolleyes

XenoType - I just wanted to say thanks for your responses in this thread... you have been a big help cause every time there is a question about stuff you have been able to help direct people to find the answer. Also, I would say that most of the time you have been giving the same answers that I would have. So Thanks ;)

Hey Darkside is there a collar or a neck piece for the mark VII pep files? paper not foam

I did not get around to making a mk VII neck... I recommend the Mk VI neck from Robo3687's files... links on the first post of this thread.

hey dark don't recall are you changing the boot file in V2 MK 7 project

Yes major change! I already shared pics of the new v2 file... check the links in the first post for them.

hey mike erm just a question about the abs now my waist line is about 31 -32 in so am i better off keeping the scale set at 23 like i have done with the rest of your files or have i to scale em abit ? if so how would i messure the abs to fit me right , ie from the chest to the cod , would i messure from my diaphram to the top of my groin ? if it would be easier could you inbox me please and again man great work with these files hope im doing you proud in my thread oh and ive finished my helmet and chest now im starting the legs

I would use the measurement tool to check the width of the abs/midsection. Measure from front to back and side to side. Then try to get those measurements on your own body. Just don't stick the tape measure through your gut... that might not work out so well. :wacko

Scale as needed. The width is much more important than the height.

Hey all!

I just became a member but I've been following this thread for awhile, I know this question has been answered, I just can't find it but what chest/back brace are you guys using for the peps?

I believe if you're doing a paper pep you need the brace. If it is foam you don't.

Is there a brace specifically for the Mk7? Or is everyone using the mark 6?

I used mark 4's brace and it fitted pretty well

Everyone is using the mark iv/vi brace. I believe it's universal for this build

Yes, I recommend the brace for both foam and pepakura... use the Mk IV/VI brace from Robo3687's files. You can leave off the part in the front that surrounds the arc reactor.

The Chinese Iron Man 3 trailer shows the mark vii in it.

That is awesome... glad to see that the Mk VII will be in two films.

There is going to be a large number of suits in IM3... yikes, I feel sorry for the guys that were trying to keep up building all the suits. lol But this should give all the other modelers something to do besides making models of suits that are already out, lol
