Eh, I'll see it but I won't go in ravenous like others did, and (admittedly) myself, for The Dark Knight.
I think I am one of the few people underwhelmed by TDK; swept up in the hype (mostly for Two-Face, I wasn't too crazy for Ledger's Joker) and peer pressure and got something lesser than what I was expecting: banal and unsubtle dialogue, no atmosphere, Too-Much-Crap syndrome, muddled tone (didn't know if it wanted to be action-hero movie or straight drama), and an overall lack of fantasy considering we're talking about a man in a bat costume fight bad guys. All of which contributed to it feeling kinda boring.
To date, I've only seen the movie four times: once in the theaters, once more in IMAX (because the IMAX experience is incomparable, you could watch someone churn butter in IMAX and you'd be immersed in it), once when the dvd came out, once more when it came on televesion, and the two latter I couldn't even sit through.
BB is still the best of the two so far in my book. I like these movies but they are far from the second coming of ****** people make them out to be.
On a lighter note, I must admit, I do appreciate the nod to the 60's Catwoman costume. Hathaway can't rock it as well as Julie Newmar did but it's the thought that counts.
