Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, I heard it was scheduled for a reboot after this. I hope so. That would be awesome.

I hope they make more Batman movies, but not exactly a reboot. We dont need an origin story. Everyone knows who Batman is. Just make a Batman movie. They don't do a whole new origin story every time they change actors for James Bond.

If they left out the origin and introduction of the characters, they could get into telling a UNIQUE story that we haven't seen, not an altered version of the same story.

I've been trying my best to resist watching the new trailer, since I've heard it reveals a bit too much. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'll be able to hold out much longer. This trailer will be showing with The Avengers this weekend, and there's no way I'll be able to close my eyes and plug my ears when it comes on.

Exactly. So watch it now a bunch of times so you understand everything you see on the big screen :)

I don't think it is really possible for a trailer to show too much. It is literally less than 10% of the entire film shown. Just like The Dark Knight, there was so much more that happened that we didn't see in the trailer. I am sure there is a ton that isn't revealed here (i.e. Miranda Tate, Ras).

I see your point, and in that sense, you are correct. No doubt there's plenty of stuff we have yet to see. But I still think it is absolutely possible for a trailer to show too much of a film. And what I mean by "too much" is giving away what some might consider a pinnacle point. For example, if the trailer for the original Planet of the Apes had shown the Statue of Liberty blown to pieces, well, that obviously would have been too much.

Yes, but we still do not know what this trailer shows us of the film. Can't know if it's showing too much until we see the film.

It's all in execution as well. This trailer hints at a lot but does not necessarily give us anything. We just can't know.

trailers obviously need to entice if that means giving a lil glimpse...we still miss the big picture and must see to find out. but you gotta give enough away to make them want to see what's what. just my .02.

If that last trailer didn't get you excited then nothing could. It promised a very entertaining and thought provoking end to Nolan's franchise imo.
