Hey Dancin_Fool was wondering why the helmet is not in the complete zip file? Is it the one that is just below it?
Did I do something wrong with the scale?
I had the ratio at 17.272000 for someone who's 5'8" inches tall
I think I figured it out, my ratio at 5'8" should be 1.431 versus the 1.525 for a 6 footer. That sound about right to you guys?
Really looking forward to getting started on this build....I'm starting at a little under a year for Dragon-Con next fall.
maybe more like 1.525000 divided by 72 inches (6 feet) multiplied by 68 inches (5 feet 8 inches) gives closer to 1.440278 - if the default scale for 6 feet is 1.525
EDIT however the pep files I have just downloaded give a default scale of 1.639500 which would then be 1.548417 although at 1.525 the unibeam hole is 90mm across which according to the creator http://www.therpf.com/f24/dancinfools-iron-man-mark-iii-pep-files-101543/index9.html#post2177473 is the correct default size
I'll answer all the scaling questions for you, courtesy of Dancing Fool who answered it for me a while back.
Dancing Fool indicated that he was 6' tall. This is scaled for him, so if you're 6' tall, you're good to go. If not, simply do the math like so:
6' = 72", so divide the default scale in this pep (1.6795) by 72" for a ratio of .0233 (rounded). Now, take your height in inches and multiply it by the ratio. I'm 66" (5'6") and multiplying this number by the ratio gives me my scale of 1.50.
The arm may be an error, or it may be scaled to DF specifically. I would say it would be better to err on the side of caution and adjust all pieces to the same scale.
It (foam files) should be the same as my old files but when I brought in the human model and scaled it to 6' the scale wound up at around 1.6. So in theory the default scale should work out to 6' but something might have got lost in translation.
I just double checked though exporting my human model the default scale on the rest of the pieces, 1.6395, should be perfect for a 6 foot person.
