Pretty sure this moron is a member here. He left a whiney message on one of my video's crying about his 'craftsmenship' before I deleted it and he mentioned that he reads the forum.

i wish i could find out his name on this forum.

His profile image makes me think that he has some kind of mental defect, and perhaps I should not have been so harsh.

:lolLOL!

His videos are ebarassingly entertaining, look for the one where his mom tells him that the video is recording and hes wearing garbage bag venom in his front yard.

oh, he is reading this thread. we are talking about him and he loves the attention in some twisted way.

Oh wow. It's really unfortunate but hilarious to on-lookers how this is all going down. Not how you got ripped off, Mr B, but how this kid is reacting to all this. I haven't investigated but it sounds like he's responding to polite critique the same way he's responding to flames?

Novice-Prop-Maker-Dude, if you are reading this, that is not the attitude you need to improve. :C

When I saw the preview-photos on the ebay listing, I could tell from the photo of him holding it, builder was a kid. Red flag right there. I remember some of my early props I don't think I'll ever bother to post online except for lulz. Difference is, I made them as toys for myself, not to try to sell for way too much for what it is.

On the other hand, devil's advocate, about how many hours do you think it took him to put even the "****ty" version together? Divide by price, that's what the kid values his time at. For all we know it took him a hundred hours to fold paper and tack on decorative marker caps and brush resin.

Hopefully the kid will learn how to either better represent what he is selling, or snazz up his skills a little more. It's a shame he got bombarded by flames and is all up in arms instead of listening to the underlying critique from people who know their stuff. That is not how you excel.

Really, I hope this all gets sorted out peacefully, Mr. B! D:<

First... could the kid in the video be the son of the guy who sells them? and secondly, I would love to have the address of the dude if he is in Melbourne Florida, lol. I live about an hour from there and have friends that I visit there once a month. I would LOVE to make an appearance :love

No. He has vidoes on Youtube of how he makes them, and his address is probably in his Myspace page which he has listed as his 'website' on Youtube.

no, it is the twenty year old kid that lives with his mom. i tried to call him and he would not even answer the phone. then emailed me saying nice job with the phone call.

billous.

it is funny from the people looking in. but i don't find it funny at all. at this point it is not about the money. it is the principal. don't screw people over just because you think you can get away with it.

yeah, i was told it was made of fiberglass and thought i could fix any defects. but how do you fix a toliet paper and resin prop?? ........more toliet paper and resin???

I would keep calling and talk to his mother if possible. Just nonchalantly drop the fact he's scamming people on eBay for several hundred dollars and idley mention things like 'lawsuit' and 'claims court'.

If you have the time and the money to go through with it, I would seriously consider taking this kid to claims court, espically after he just scammed someone out of another 500$.

That's close to what WETA charged for thier official guns and this ******* has the balls to call his 'prop'(LOL PROP) gorgeous.

Just F' with his sales. We can all open a bunch of ebay ID's that we don't care about getting unpaid strikes on, and everytime he posts a high ticket item we all just buy it now or run them really high. Then never pay!! He will have to file claims to get the sales fees removed and then repost, only to have us do it again. We will make his life hell!!

Considering the good guys at WETA are members of this forum, perhaps they could be encouraged to exercise their VERO rights on Ebay in relation to this guy. No sense in us putting ourselves in the line of fire. I wouldn't normally advocate this, but this is not (to my knowledge) the case of one seller against another.

Filing in small claims court is also an excellent idea. Since you bought on the internet, some jurisdictions allow you to file locally to you instead of locally to them. The resulting summary judgement then has the potential of affecting their credit score, if they do not return the money.

Ahahaha wait, he's 20?

Yeah uh. My bad.

Man I want to say something witty to help ease the venom of the situation but....

Novice-prop-maker-dude if you're reading this- seriously. Seriously? With this behavior, you really did fool me.

An unfortunate situation.

Thank you, mrbungle, for bringing it to our attention. We've all had moments where our desire for a thing overrode our common sense, treat this as a learning experience and you'll be ahead of the curve next time.

I guess this is a best time as any to put up a first post.

Lets see how nice i can put this, he lacks any kind of common sense. Look at the video of him in his Z28 Camero, for example.

He will just continue to do this until he either gets tired of it or until he gets into major trouble. Ive seen this happen a few times before to both fellow forum members and local friends. Its not a fun thing to go through. Hopefully you can recover some money from him.

Cheers,
-John-

Considering his Youtube page says he has a 'fiance' while living at home with his mother and not even above legal drinking age, I don't think common sense is one of his stronger values.

His immature comments to the people who posted on his video(trolling and regular comments alike) pretty much sum up his personality. He's going to scam people for as long as he can to make a quick buck, and probably thinks that noone would bother with any legal action against him.
