D.C.'s Supergirl (tv series)

They're kind of in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation with Superman imo...

You'll have the camp where "Supergirl should be able to stand on her own!" and you'll have the other camp where "It's stupid that Superman is never around when cataclysmic events are going on"...

I actually think it's smart to get the elephant out of the room and deal with it and move on....

But that's really the problem with any shared universe, whenever something big happens, every single hero ought to be showing up to help deal with it and they clearly can't do a massive crossover a dozen times a season. That's as much as problem in the comics, an even bigger problem in fact because there aren't budgetary concerns, than it is on TV.

First new episode, Supergirl is exposed to red kryptonite. Cat is berating Kara about some insignificant thing. Kara slams Cat through wall and she falls 100 stories to the pavement. Fade to black, the end ! ;)

Is CBS going to retain Season 1 on-demand rights or will it come over to CW with the series as a whole?

They really dropped the ball by not getting Tom Welling

I'm pretty sure this more about Tom Welling not willing to do it over them not wanting him....

He made it pretty clear that he did *not* ever want to wear the suit...

Hey, Tyler Hoechlin even pulls off the glasses well.

All the stuff about TW has nothing to do with acting ability, looks, etc. It's about getting closure on the 9 year tease that was smallville ending without ever seeing him in the suit.

But we did...if only for three seconds. ;)

We never saw him fully. You saw shoulders and up at the side of the plane. Technically a full shot, but on my 61" tv he was linke 1" tall and a blue/red blur, and and the final shot just opening the shirt to show the S. That was it. Never a full superman shot.

Who cares?

In other news, I think this guy can fit the bill nicely, and I look forward to seeing the Berlantiverse version of Superman.

Who cares? .

we usually agree on stuff, but not on this one ;o)

LOTS OF PEOPLE.

when you invest ten years in smallville....

through all the ups and down (mostly downs)...

and know that the show is at odds with itself... (a show about clark becoming superman, but never about putting on the suit to complete the journey)..

....you would rightly feel ripped off at the end.

Especially if you like the cast and feel emotionally attached to the cast (I felt sorry when THIS pa kent died), and want to see them at their characters best.

It felt like a TREMENDOUSLY CHEAP COP OUT. Here you have this intentse-ley emotional scene of a dead pa kent coming back to hand his son the superman suit.
the same suit they'd been building up all season with....

And you DON'T EVEN GET A FULL HERO SHOT OF HIM IN IT. just a few blurred far away images, and one 1/4th close up of him next to a plane, IIRC the ending correctly.

Even with the show mantra 'no flights, no tights', that's an incredible dis service to the fans....who stuck out an arguably questionable show just for the big reveal at the end.

that's why people care about this particular one ;o).

If you don't feel cheaped out by this one... ;o)

So Kara can't breath or fly in space?

Since when?

Her cousin used to end every film with a cheeky wink in orbit.
