Customized R/M Viper to Long Patrol Viper

Why, it's the legendary 6th Millennium Viper. :D

Good work, I'm liking the lit cockpit and engines. :thumbsup

Not sure about the green markings, I'd dull those down or else go with the gray they seem to have used on the original.

You know, considering the original was just a hastily done kitbash (of sorts), I think you captured the flavor very well.

YEAHHHH....excellent job. I like the way you lightened the engines..fantastic.

I wish I had these images when I started, the build and the paint would have been better. I will make sure to take notice of these images for future builds, if I decide to go down that road again.

I really like! But a small criticism - meant to be constructive (I hope) to my eye something looks a little off... like the wings might be a little too "wide" making the nose look too short. Or maybe the nose is just a bit short... Still though its a really nice model - better then the one I have :$

Overall its a great model - you're lighting really is top notch!

If I had the images "Phase Pistol" posted, the build would have been different.
I agree, the wings look a little to big for me as well.
I went with another build someone else is doing in 1/24 and the few images I collected off of the internet.
A second build will be different and more accurate if I decide to go down that road again.
I dont mind comments or constructive criticism, it helps to make me a better builder.

later, Barry.

Hey Phase Pistol.

I have been studying the images you have posted.
The images appear to be of two different models.
Different details and markings.
The lower wings appear to be different shapes as well.
Interesting, food for thought.

Hi Barry, sorry I didn't get back to you, I didn't see this thread again until just now.

You are correct, the pics do appear to be different. I don't know how many miniatures there were, or even if one of those is a replica. Some of the pics came from a Profiles auction so who knows.

I would point out that if you're building from a Revellogram model kit, there will be differences off the bat because the model kit replicates the full scale set piece Viper, while the actual Long Patrol Viper is made from one of the studio miniature Vipers. The studio miniatures will have a longer nose and wings, among other differences.

Thanks guys.
I threw it on the auction block over at Evilbay to see what happens.
It's my first time trying to sell my builds on Evilbay.
We'll see what happens.

Well it sold with buy it now at $150.
Someone liked it and now I have a few bucks to throw at my credit card bill.
