Custom suit build the Knarley Mofo Elder WIP

Hunters I'm gonna create my own version of Celtic costume from AVP, how ever long its takes, no rushing, so Im deffo in for the long haul.

My Idea is that the Celtic Pred did make it out of the Hunt and not Scar, and that he grew to a mentalistly gnarly elder.

Build wise I'm aiming to build a smaller set armour, I aiming for Wolf/P1 kind of amount on the shoulders. Wolf kind of back panel and medi pack, a staff/spear of some kind, maybe even a Chopper-esk Skull on a pole. I also like the idea that he kept his elephant Plasma gun. I'm half way through my Blade gaunt.I'm now thinking on that I need bigger blades. That's where my thoughts and ideas are.

I haven't set a date to finish it, so its gonna be a long one maybe one day I'll get to do some of the cons with you guys.

The Start of the Long Road a Head

I've got hold of Celtic Bio in a swap I did. That said if you remember from my P1 bulid the hours of sanding, filling and getting it just where I was happy with it was a proper labour of, I've started to fettle away on the Bio already, a few tweaks here and a few tweaks there nothing major. Well I say that now but who knows.... Pics later

I've also got a few sketches of my armour ideas I'll upload later.

Could someone please combine my gaunt thread with this thread.

Pic's as promised.

Bio, I've removed the tusks and tweaked one of the cheek spikes. Resculpted the nose side so the front lines now match. Made the grooves on the top of the nose deeper. Removed the tri laser. Trimmed out the eyes. I'm in the process of making the rear behind the eyes thicker as its quite a thin cast. I've strengthened and repaired the lower chin part as there was a crack running up the tusk. Trying to sand and trim out some of the details back to be more prominent. And just a general sand up and fettle. More to come........ I'm gonna recast/source new tusks to show more depth in the detail as the ones in the cast weren't 100% defined detail wise as I'd liked.

Update

I've asked at my local sign writers if they have any old Sintra/Foamex board they might get rid of or if they ever have any waste stuff. And hey ho they said take what I want and come back if you need any more. What a result. 3mm, 5mm & 10mm boards. 24" x 12" the biggest, most are just strips though. Perfect for what I need. So,I thought before I go rushing into building the shroud for my gaunt or anything else. I started as an exercise to see if I had the write glue to fix the board together and the next thing I knew I was planning and researching the uber cannon, printing out pics and getting the AVP book out. What do you guys think? Still early stages I'm gonna use some foamies and car filler, plenty of sanding and time.

Never liked the AVP-bios that much.
But with the time the look of the celtic-helmet growth on me.
That helmet remind me a bit on the Gort-bio.
I like what Ice did with the eyes.
Howabout some markings on the dome?
Various artist rebuilded the celtic-bio. The versions with bigger fangs and without tubes looks cool for me.
Will follow this threat to see what you do with the celtic.
Also your cardboard-canon looks very promising.
Keep on that great work!

Never liked the AVP-bios that much.
But with the time the look of the celtic-helmet growth on me.
That helmet remind me a bit on the Gort-bio.
I like what Ice did with the eyes.
Howabout some markings on the dome?
Various artist rebuilded the celtic-bio. The versions with bigger fangs and without tubes looks cool for me.

Cheers buddy, some interesting ideas. Like the script work on the back of the bio . Deffo something I have even toying with, like a Mike Tyson type tribal thang around 1 side of the bio.

Bit of an update on the cannon. I'm lovin the pvc board, sintra/foamex stuff. Such a joy to carve and sand and shape. I've also used some epoxy putty for the front cocking shroud. Kind of like hammered metal effect. It's about 13" in length. It's also differing from being a copy of the uber cannon to something a little wolf/uberish.

And an update on the bio spikes. I've used some toothed washers , coins and a pva ikle pot lid. I plan to put some dots on the end may be using a lampret piercing 3/4mm and add some grooves around the internal spike. There not glued together or in yet just blu-taced in to try them on for size. Deffo gives a bit more detail to them.

Oh the eye mesh is just to see not for keeps I ave some mirrored glasses coming from HK. And some friken laser beams.

Been busy with other stuff recently and my build got put on the back burner.

Bit of a bio update, I've added in the tusks , but I've yet to add some detail to the inner spike. Resculpted the tri laser inner cup part to face more forward as the one sculpted on the bio faced away, just my fetteling preference. The lenses arrived so I had to add some putty to the rear so now they fit snug as a bug. I've got to trim them down and got a bit of snugging to be done until there a perfect fit. I've gone over all the details and etched away and sanded and refined em. I'm toying with the idea of cutting out and re sculpting the front disc inserts, so there is more crisper detail. Also toying with the idea of cutting out the temple hose and coming up with another version to included hose ports, as I like em on the P1, anyone one know of any suitable pen lids? and even maybe a cheek port. I've drilled out the two dots on each cheek, fingers crossed that will get a bit of air in there at cons. Still a bit of fettleing here and there before I get some primer on.

After a play around with the diodes from HK, I've decided to go with Led's for the time being. Until I can save some funds for a set of Hippies lasers.

Cheers Buddy. I'm getting there slowly. I need to get some funds together before I can progress onto the costume body, head etc.

I started to play with the skull toy I bought ages ago and thought I'd have a go at turning it into a trophy for my costume. The only thing was the top of the skull was in the next weeks magazine. It was from like build a Skeleton for kids to like collect em magazine. But I forgot to buy it. So Epoxy to the rescue. See what you guy think? The other tooth I fettleing out of a piece of left over epoxy putty and the other ikle skull my dog found whilst we were in Wales, out walking one day. Again I've used epoxy putty to fillin parts. The dinosaur claw is my 1st play with sculpy. Good stuff but I think I prefer Milliputt/Expoxy putty. What do you guys use? I've yet to paint the claw. It deffo needs some more fetteling away at and sanding and drilling out a bit to get it where I like.

I've also been playing around with my gaunt, I'll post some pics soone, when its nearly there. Here it's is at the min

Had a piece of MDF laying around about 2 foot long ................... Have got some good plans set in motion for thiis one, and all for a minuscule cost. It's just in primer at the min. Needs a few more coats until all the wispy bits of MDF are lost and its smooth. Then I can get the silver on. The handles in the post on its way to me and as cheep as chips, literally. Need to get some twine or hemp rope maybe or some strips of leather. I was thinking if using the skull on the sheath like on the Elder from P2.
