Custom suit build the Knarley Mofo Elder WIP

Got some metal washers and some cogs made out of MDF, just need to find an appropriate centre piece for the detail to be complete. What do you think deeper thicker maybe of just about the right depth?

I also got some paint on the sword and placed on the handle and wrapped it in kitchen towel sliced up to try to get an idea of the handle size. I've got an old leather skirt on the way, given to me by my aunt. The pic she sent me was mental, it will come in perfect to strip up for the handle and other bits and bobs. Then it dawned on me, butt flap!!!!!'

I'll get some pics once its here. And I purchased a Usurper wolf neck ring. Looks wicked with the necklace. Cheers Marcel.

I had some left over sculpy from making the big claw so I decided to have a go at making some P2esk dread beads. Nice couple of beers and after the barbie and decided I would have a flick through the stan winston book I've got. I thou I **** it I could have a go at that and if they turn out pants I could always bin em. I'm so proud of em I've decided to sculpt the rest of my beads this way. All I need now is a head and some friken dreads.

I've kind of gone P2 ish and thought if I make each one bespoke I would also end up with something truly unique. The two I've done will have the ring and beads dropping from them. I'll make others with out the nose shape as well. I even toyed with the ides of trying to make my version of each of my fav beads from each of the Pred films.......

What do you all think? I'll do a paint up later. Obviously after a good fettle and sand up.

The beads look good.  Are you planning on sculpting each individual bead, or are you going to mold and cast them?

Cheers Buddy, yeah I do like the Celtic bio the most, but. Also like the tribal look of the P2 Elder.

Not to sure yet buddy, I'll have to see how I get on. I plan to make each one bespoke and different. But saying that working it out theres a friken lot to make. Maybe I'll cast a few, but I need to learn how to cast first. I've already got a few booie P1 beads. I need to look at some from avp and avpr. I'd quite like to make some vertibrae spine beads.

lol yeah, that's why I asked.  It would be cool to have all sorts of different beads, but that involves waaaayyyyy more than I'm willing to do.  I ended up sculpting 5 or 6 different beads and casting from those, simply because I wasn't willing to individually sculpt 100 dread beads lol.

Buddy, on your head thread post 32 you've got a great blue stripey bead, where did you get that from? It's on the left of. The mask as you look at it more clearly in the first pic.

If you're talking about the one circled in red in the pic, it's a bone bead I picked up from a local outdoor type shop.  Sadly, I seem to have lost it at some point (didn't even notice until looking for it on my head just now).  Guess it's time to make another trip to the store.

More beers in the sun and more sculpting beads......did another P2 set, this time doing some of the symbols on one of them. I've still gotta fettle them around and paint em. My first two I made I've wrapped bits of leather round em from the suede skirt from my aunt. It's turned out to be a wickedly thin tan suede skirt with ikle tassels on perfect for puttin on the beads

......and I've collect some dirt cheep trinkets and beads from Hong Kong as well, pics of them soon, and I mean , bargains much cheapness. Less than £3.25. Well they were £3.23 in total. He he he he. Then I got hold of some leather thread from HK £0.11 for 3 meters of 2mm size and threaded em all up. I also used some parts and trinkety stuff I've had for what seems like ever and at last I found a use for em.

Fellow Hunters you must take a look on Ebay and search for worldwide when looking for stuff as all the ikle bits I've collected from there recently have been great. As long as you don't mind waiting for ever for delivery and I just put silly bids on loads of beads and that and when a few auctions rolled in and I won I was over the moon. A few more here and there over the las few months and well. I'll get some pics up soon. See what you think.

And I got hold of two dreads. They have been invaluable using as a size reference for the beads.

All feedback welcome.......

Just hung on the wall for now so I can get the effect of how they might hang, I'll get some detailed pics later.

Here's the other shots I promised closer shots of the trinkets beads and some close ups of the necklace trophies. The croc skull was a much cheapness purchase from Hong Kong. It did have a gaping wide open mouth, so I cut it about and glued it back together and hey ho, neck trophy number two. I'm still undecided on the beads for the necklace but you get the idea of what I'm trying to achieve. I've also taken a shot of some of the stuff I also collected over the while from here and there to use as dread beads. The human face part of a skull trophy is finished paint wise, just need to work out where its gonna go on the costume. I've also just won a 1/1 size human skull from, you guessed it HK. £1.87. I't did help it was an Aussie auction finishing at 3.28 am our time.

What do you think of the scroll work on the bio? Its some random scribblings I did. I got the idea from searching throu some previous builds on here. You can spend hrs, days even looking at some truly mental builds and then also some truly shocking 1 day complete builds. Each to your own.

I've also gotta age one side of trinket beads. I again found this ideas on the lair somewhere, using varnish with a stain in it. As I had some old ronseal antique oak varnish in the garage I used it and it looks wicked. If I do say so my self. I also used it on the necklace skulls.

Finger lickin good buddy. I might have another idea for my final necklace skull......

Small update. I took the dremmel, sandpaper, knives, files and some other sharp **** to the bio and carved out some runes, some scratches and gouges and ding marks. I then hit I with some primer. A few small detail to sharpen and I need to go over the scroll work again and I'm calling it time for base silver coat. I've also finished the nose detail. Just gotta retest the LEDs to make sure it all still fits and doesn't need any filler or light covering primer. I've taken a few pics let me know your thoughts good or bad?

I also gonna try and run a costume weight total. The bio so far is 1047g as I do and complete more parts of my costume I'm gonna see how much a whole suit weighs. Has anyone tried this before?

Cheek port added. Had a fettle on some of the scar marks I did as some looked a little to clinical for my liking & I redid the runes a little sharper with a different dremmel attachment I never new i had. I found a little baggie tucked in the lid full of wonderful attachments. Now a final fiddle around and base coat time. I'm gonna use the same spray paint I used on my P1.

I'm deffo going for a well aged battle hardened warrior that's not scarred of anything that the universe has to offer........

I'm gonna age the **** out the paint up on it. Fingers crossed it'll come out just like I'm plannin'

image.jpg

Right, I finished fettling around, finalised the battle damage and got the base coat on in silver. The same as I used for my P1. It's car paint for wheels. It looked really odd in just silver, so I started the ageing paint up. Using all the techniques I've learned from previous projects and from various mentors on the Lair I'm half way finished.

I'm I two minds about the runes in the brass colour. I've gotta leave the paint where it is for a few days and then finish it off.

I just blu tacked the lenses in to see how they'd look. Pretty happy with em to be honest. Gives it a sinister look.

The cheek ports come out better than I could hope for. It took a whie to find a suitable piece. I found it in the end in a box in the garage I'd collected and put a side for future uses. What a result ! ! ! !

I'd appreciate some feedback good or bad .........

That looks great man. I really like the brass colour, sets it apart from the norm. I really couldn't bring myself to doing that battle damage to mine. More power to you for doing it.  (y)
