Custom Neca 18" Predator Conversion To The "elder Greyback" **update 9/20 Finished Pictures Pg 7**

Thanks guys! (y)

More head detailing...

Now onto the sides and lower mandibles. I spread some putty around the cheek bones simulating a half moon.

I use a little paint cap to position where I want to place the boney protrusions. Then I drop a little ball of putty on the circle and manipulate it into a little bone.

I mirror the same to each side of the cranium using the previous step.

I alter the mouth gums by adding two more sets of teeth. I also add some little boney protrusions on the lower part of his cheek.

I fill in those pesky break lines where the factory added the closed mouth on. For example: under his chin, sides of his cheeks and the top of the mouth.

More to come... :D

Jeebus you take some nice pics! I like it when I see someone use macro and do a good job of it. Also, your work in awesome...just awesome.

Thanks for checkin it out guys! Appreciate the nice compliments. :D

Heres a shot of the final head sculpt. I think it looks pretty good!

I added the little teeth in the front and on the sides and put a few more boney protrusions around.

I'm not too crazy about how long the front mandibles are. From my reference pics, they look to be a bit shorter in length.

One more modification to the mandibles and we're all done.

Man... adegregario, you have some crazy stuff going on there. I LIIIIKE EET!!!

Will this clay dry in form to the figure and become hard so Joe can paint it, or is there a process you have to go through to get the clay to harden and form to the plastic?

I am not of the sculpting background quite yet. I tried, but time is elusive for me at times.

Thanks man, I'm diggin it too... (y)

Yes, the putty I am using is AVES. Here's their website: http://www.avesstudio.com/

No need to bake or take any special steps.

You mix part A with part B for a few minutes. Then you have a working time of about 4 hours. And it dries rock hard.

Then sand, prime and paint.

Thanks guys, glad you like it...

Well, I trimmed down the mandibles to the correct size. I also beefed up the right tooth a little bit.

I made the tooth so it comes off. I did this so Joe could paint the inside of the mouth. Otherwise, it would have been very tricky to paint.

Joe wanted me to prime the head and send him a pic to see if I needed to change or alter anything. He likes it! Says it ready for paint.

Ok, a few more full shots of the whole piece assembled and then it's off to Joe's lair...

It looks beautiful, period. If i could be a critic ,i dont know if i would change a thing but is it me but the lower mandibles are out to far.I personally would'nt risk the cut (might crack detail) and with the paint up it would'nt matter too much.Oh and just noticed , the cracked tooth mandible is broken and leaning in some. From artist to artist , it looks beautiful without paint.
My sig for quick ref....

Thanks bud. Yeah, it's hard to picture it with all the different colors going on, huh?

Yes, the lower mandibles do stick out a bit. I would have had to cut it way back on the gum line, re position it and then re-glue it again, something I didn't want to do because it's such a small piece.

And without quills, there going to change the game all together.

Mother of jeebus! This is an incredible custom!!
I love the way you've detailed your progress, so thank you for that. But seriously... holy **** balls!
Absolutely amazing, AMAZING work man.

Will you be having Joe send you pic's of the progress work, or are you just going to be "surprised"?

Well, this is it! He's finally finished. I must say this was a long and daunting project. He's all packed up and ready to ship to Joe.

I want to say thanks to all the guys who commented and all of you who helped me out tremendously (you know who you are).

So heres the final shots (missing a few conversions but they are there).
I took these pics earlier so they may look a bit different. The last modification I did was sand down the gums a little more and add the longer dreads to the fronts and sides.

It looks a bit odd with all the different colors and such, so try to picture the Elder somewhere under there.

Man I can't wait too see how Joe paints this up.

Jeebus that looks good. I like how you created the tri-laser and attached it to the top of the canon to make it screen accurate. Give yourself a pat on the back cuz that's outta this world. Joe will knock it out of the galaxy with his paint - hope you didn't want it back!
