Re: Creepshow comic prop

Man, nice work! Been waiting for these for a long while!

Actually, those aren't the ones that I did. (Maybe I should have put that in my previous post)
I managed to get a hold of a guy who is friends with Tom Savini. He happened to have a hi-res image of the artowrk for the comics and I bought these two issues from him.
While the artwork is accurate, the text area is a bit off. The "cent" symbol is a different text than the one in the film.
The edge of the red background should also have a black line along it's border.

I also noticed that the artwork has much more cross hatching and shading details than the one I did (I used limited resolution reference images when i created the artowrk, so I was able to see these fine details.)

Im going to rework my art and add more details, and then reprint it with the accurate text section.
Also going to recreate the back page and the art for issue #2. (The cover art on issue #2 is slightly blurry on the book)

Cool beans! Now, all you need is someone to take the movie, do screencaps from each segment, comic bookize them and then you'd have a full blown comic. :D

Looking forward to seeing your new stuff! Your first run at the cover looked great.

Actually, Im planning on doing just that.

I was originally going to use the artwork from the graphic novel that came out in the early 80's.

Sweet! I didn't know they released an actual comic adaptation! How accurate is the comic panels to those seen in the film?

Although Bernie Wrightsons art looks amazing, the artwork and panel layouts look nothing like the comic in the film.

WOW!!! dude when i saw this i was amazed! i know this post is kind of old but are you still working on this project? are you replicating the whole comic book? and how did you pull off getting those copies from tom savini?!! ive been wanting those actual props since i first saw creepshow when i was 9 yrs old!!! can you help me out with getting some???

Just watched the Region 2 DVD which has an AMAZING 90 minute documentary. They show the actual prop, complete with the cut out ad for the voodoo doll. I would love to have the film accurate comic.

Hey guys, sorry about the delay. Been juggling other projects around and put this one on the back burner.
Ill get back on it when Im done with the other stuff.

awesome thread, and am following this avidly :D can't wait to see the outcome, as i've longed for one of these comics as well, but have never had the time to do one :D loving this. Creepshow is one of my all time faves :D
