Creepshow comic book

Hey guys, Im wondering if anyone has ever attempted in making an accurate Creepshow comic like the one seen in the movie?
Ive been thinking about this as a future project by using screen caps, a little photoshop work to replicate the same book seen in the film.

I currently own the 1980's graphic novel adaptation, but unfortunately it's not accurate to what is seen on the film....Even the cover is different.

By looking at the book in the film, it looks as though the artwork for the prop was taken from screencaps of the movie scenes which were then converted to B&W and then given the comicbook style coloring treatment.
There's also plenty of reference in the film to the corny comic book ad pages which I could easily do in PS.

The only problem i noticed is the sequence of the panels. When each story starts, the movie makes a transition from film to an animated comic book sequence. During these scenes you can see the last few panels of the previous story, and they seem to be out of sequence (Well, not really out of sequence, but they seem to skip across much of the dialog and story.)

Im wondering if I should make the panels coherent to the story, or should I just make it accurate to what is seen on the film (with panel mistakes and all)??

Any advice, ideas?

Re: Creepshow comic prop

Would love to see this done. Your Unbreakable comic cover looked superb, so I'd love to see a full size Creepshow comic, even if it's just the front cover. :thumbsup

I would like to see this done as well. Fluffy (the thing in the crate) is one of my favs.

Re: Creepshow comic prop

I was just looking at the comic covers the propstore has for the same thing. I always wanted the covers to the episodes as well. I have creepshow on DVD and will have to run it through the computer for some caps.

This looks like an interesting project! Can't wait to see where it goes!

This is a great idea for a project - I will be watching this thread "with great interest"!

Re: Creepshow comic prop

Any updates on this? I believe this was the first thread I saw when I found The rpf and I was and am definitely interested....

Re: Creepshow comic prop

Ive had some other projects to take care of, but Im still working on the cover.

Im also thinking of using screencaps from the film to actually create the entire book (After all ,the original comic art from the film was based on screencaps fas well)

Updates later

Re: Creepshow comic prop

So, I'm no expert, but does anyone know if you typically see two Ls together like that in Roman numerals? And, wouldn't what I'm looking at put his date of birth at 1828 and death in 1972? He was 144 when he died? No wonder he was so grumpy all the time.

The cover looks great though.
