All I can say is don't be too pleased with mine. It's a simplistic design and construction. I call it "The Midway", and you'll see why when you look at it.

Working on gluing up my sonic today. I can't wait to see them all. They're like Mini Coopers, one by itself is cute, but a bunch of them together is overwhelmingly cute!! So, yeah, down to gluing up, a little paint touch-up, and, of course, that one elusive I-really-wish-I-could-find-the-perfect-little-piece-for-this-spot piece I'm still looking for!?!

I myself am almost done as well. I thought I was finished but after I got back from a business trip, inspiration struck me hard and I had to go back at it again. I still can't wait to see all of these entries. I hope at least some have taken some progress images and won't mind giving up a few secrets.

I will post the pics in a dedicated thread after the deadline (24-48hrs after). Once the contest is over you can post them for yourselves. The reason for this is to keep anonimity of the makers, so we don't have a popularity contest. This has worked pretty well in the past.

The 15th is still the deadline correct? Between day to day life and the ^&*$%*$ main body issues I've been having with my build I need all the time I can get. 
I am new to the Doctor Who universe. Is there a good reference to some sonic screwdriver anatomy for noobs (analogous to lightsabers having emitters, pommels, grips, activation switches, etc.). I might still be able to put something together before the 15th, but I like to have in-universe reasons for putting pieces together (each part has a theoretical function, if you will).

I almost finished the whole thing in just a few hours. I have a few extra bits I need to complete... expect my submission soon!
That can be just as much fun as spending weeks on a prop! I've done a few "24 hour" prop builds... did a lightsaber that way, and a blade runner blaster. Sometimes being under the gun keeps you from obsessing over things for no reason.
I seriously can't wait to see all of these... this is going to be awesome!
