[COMPLETE] The Amazing Spider-Girl (Female Ben Reilly Custom Dye-Sub Suit)

Re: The Amazing Spider-Girl [Custom Dye-Sub Suit]

Well ma'am, I think this is going to turn out amazing (pun...kind of intended) :p

Re: The Amazing Spider-Girl [Female Comic Book Custom Dye-Sub Suit]

Good luck with it :) I'll keep watching :) Just so you know, soon (I'm not sure how soon) I'll be doing a Cap suit! I'm leaning towards Stealth, but maybe a Comic/TFA. But this will be after I lose about 50 lbs, which, with an already changed diet, some Whey protein on the shopping list, and some VERY MANLY weight loss yoga every other day (maybe turning into every day) it shouldn't be too hard. I shed it steadily, but also gain it steadily too :(

Re: The Amazing Spider-Girl [Female Comic Book Custom Dye-Sub Suit]

Hey this is going to be a really cool build! I've actually been spending the past couple weeks reading almost everything I could get my hands on to learn how to make my own suit on as much of a budget as I can. I'll definitely be following this thread to see what you accomplish looking forward to it!

For the faceshell I've actually just stumbled on a pep file, if you know how to pep. I've made 2 already as sort of "tests" one using the regular paper file and one in the foam file to see how they fit and how they look as spiderman heads and I have to say they're pretty impressive. Its just a matter of hardening it now.

Heres a link to the thread with the files if you're interested in taking a look:

Thank you! And that's great, the Cap is awesome :) Just keep on your routine and I'm sure you'll get there!

Not a bad idea! I've done some pep work for a Halo Reach custom Spartan I'm working on, though that projuect tends to get put on hiatus alot... link to my site where you can find info on that: www.polyverseforge.com.

Me too! :D

I will let you all know when I have submitted my order to FabricOnDemand. I just had to drop about $800 unexpectedly on my car over the weekend, so this might be delayed until mid-May :facepalm

Re: The Amazing Spider-Girl [Female Comic Book Custom Dye-Sub Suit]

Do you know about how much the whole costume has cost you in terms of both money and time?

Good question! Here's the count so far. All prices in USD and include shipping where applicable.

(1) Female Muscle Base from @Sonjou - $15.00
(1) Set @TJack's Frames & Lenses - $35.00
(1) Toy Mask from eBay to use as face shell - $5.00
(1) Set of Toy web shooters from Sears.com for possible modification - $15.00 (still not sure if these will be on the final suit)
(2) Sets of Samples from FabricOnDemand.com - $12.00 USD each

- Countless hours of research and forum lurking.

- Approximately 24 hours of Photoshop time, including large amounts of rendering time due to the size of the file.

I will get another quote for the updated print soon. Need a paycheck or two to clear first :unsure

Eeps, sorry to hear about the car misfortunes. :( But this is really coming together, and those samples look awesome! And, actually, this is giving me a nudge to try my own hand at a custom sub-dye suit.

Thanks! And definitely go for it! I thought it would be a much more daunting task when I first started than it turned out to be just for the photoshopping. can't wait to get mine printed and sewn :cool

You Go girl! Subbed
^__^ Thanks!

Alright guys! I've gotten paid so I'm going to submit my order for the full suit to Fabric On Demand tomorrow!!! I expect it to be another two weeks until I actually receive the print. Once I see it in person my next plan will be to tackle strategic zipper placement.

There has been a bit of development on possible web shooters. After some discussion in @keirberos' thread here: Spider-Girl (/Ben Reilly) Webshooters WIP, I got some ideas ;)

I got a little crafty with Autodesk 123D Design the other night! First time doing this so its a bit crude. Posted the project on Shapeways:

However, it would cost $49.46 USD to have the full set of 12 printed there in the "White Strong & Flexible Plastic" :unsure

Might want to find somebody local on MakeXYZ or in The Classifieds on here to print it for a more reasonable price.

You could make it out of sculpey bake it so it gets hard then spray paint it

Re: The Amazing Spider-Girl [Female Ben Reilly Custom Dye-Sub Suit]

Hey Guys!

While I'm waiting for my suit to be printed, I started work on my own Female Muscle Base pattern that I plan to use on future designs. I'll use this base going forward for designs I plan on selling both here in the Junkyard and on my website. I'm also offering the Female Muscle Base in the Junkyard and on my site right now for $10.00.

Please note that this file can be used for personal use only. You may not use this file as a base for work you plan to re-sell.

This is turning out awesome! I'm currently working on the same or similar. Now that I think of it and if all goes well it may turn into a female version of the ASM 2 suit. :)
Keep up the great work
