Communicator builds

I just finished up a couple communicator hero build up's for someone. One is a regular textured and one is a smooth body (what if) style hero. I left them a little rough (glue here and there etc..) to sell the look a little :lol

Looks like you stole them off of Wah's workbench.

IMO:
Back in the day (on TOS Set) I saw several Coms & got to hold one...
(not bragging, merely validating my comment)

This one looks Better! (I really wish I had one of these Kits!)

Thanks !!!!
Did you get to work on TOS :eek or did you visit the set as a guest?

Like, psychidelic moire on the smoothie, man. Far out. :cool

It is funny that it photographed like that. If you look at both of them in person straight on the patterns looks the same. I did the one with the grain with the bottom turning patten off center and the top pattern centered (the bottom dot orbits the top dot) and did the reverse with the smooth shell one (both dots stay in the same place as it turns).

4 days before TOS aired, on Sept. 4th 1966 - I turned 13!
I recently met Mr. Shatner ("Please call me Bill") for the 4th time, on Set again,
as Denny Crane ...shooting the final episode of Boston Legal.

Cool communicator! :)

What did you use for your moire pattern? I've seen another of your builds that had something similar, but I've got no clue what that actually is.

Beautiful! I've been following these comm kits for some time, but alas, they are out of my price range. I'm currently stuck with my AA comm toy but could certainly do with a nice moire ring like on yours!

At any rate, great job with those comms. You look ready to beam up your landing party! ;)

Really outstanding work all around!

The builds are top notch and the work that went into making the kits is astounding.
THAT is a Prop Replica!!!!

KUDOS to all involved!!!

Chuck...
