#20 spot filled!

Derrek has informed me that there are a few guys who have submitted an order with me but haven't told him - its quite important that if you want my services that you inform Derrek so he ships your kit parts to me with the rest of the orders.
Also, there is an issue with some peoples orders not coming through on my end. I am working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, my list is up to date with all the orders I have received, so if you do not see your name on that list (post 408) please kindly re-submit your order. I update the list as soon as I get the email notification, so if it's been a few hours since you submitted and your name is not on the list, chances are it did not go through.

I am taking orders right up until Derrek is ready to prepare all the parts for shipping to me, so you'll need to check with him what his cutoff is.

Just got the OK from Derrek so i'll be filling out the form when i get home tonight.

Thanks to both of you for great work!

Form has been submitted.

@dday any updates?

Yeah, just two more weeks :lol

Seriously tho, Derrek's been really good at communicating everything, I'm sure as soon as there's something to know we'll know it :)

Agreed Derrek has done an awesome job at keeping us informed.

Yeah, but this time, just 2 more weeks... really...

I've got some progress photos of some new parts, them doing the lower cores. The machinist also said it's been taking a bit longer due to some tooling that needed to be replaces and updated to get us the best parts. Another thing that also slowed them down a bit is when we first spoke to them, it was a run of 25, and their 2 week turn around was based on this. Since the run went to an 80 quantity, some of their process and timeline changed.

If we look at the full timeline here, the machinist has basically had the deposit for 4 weeks now. There were some delays on our side for collecting the funds, and changes to quantities of the detail pieces for some folks.

All in all, and I'm sure most of you know this. I'm working my best to make sure things don't stall and every one gets their parts. I know we all have been waiting patiently, and I really really appreciate it.

I will be sending out an email update saying basically the same thing to people very shortly.

All of the red and blue wires, as well as the heatsinks are in place ready to be packaged with the sabers and ready to head out once the sabers are received.

As an appreciation for all of the waiting, I'm looking to also source the 3 screws around the edge of the upper core cover, 5 set screws used to hold the blades and quillion in place.

No problemo. Good things take time. Thank you for the progress updates, those parts look great.

So we had something come up that might delay us a touch more.

When really examining the prototypes by the various smiths who have their hands on them we identified some flaws in the design that we will fix.

The biggest of these is the positioning of the upper section to the lower section. The two were not lining up just right. It was off about 20 degrees. This caused all sorts of problems in the looks and design of the saber. First is the clip was not sitting in the right spot, it was turned a bit so that when the saber was hanging on your belt the quillion weren't flat, but rather twisted a bit. It just sat funny, which was not nice. Also, the placement of the red wire wasn't looking right because it connects to the top and the bottom sections, it was off, and the look wasn't nice either.

Gustavo did a major favor and after some measurements by Markus (www.saberproject.de) guabe; was able to rotate the threads a little bit and align the parts better.

The machinist was made aware of this and he hadn't started on the lower section just yet, so we had it in in time and he will use the new files instead.

I guess this is a silver lining of the whole project taking longer vs expected.

Derrek
