I like both your recommendations for finished the saber. Since I am located in the US how would we or I get Artisan FX to paint my saber and then have Bertuzzi install the electronics. As he says that would should have it painted before he does his installation.

If I have EU people who want paint jobs, since they will be sent to AFX at the same time, he can ship me directly the finished hilts at the same time. Yours can be shipped as well for installation then back after it's done.

you can change your mind for about 1 more week or so.

I got word the prototype is done at lunch time EST, so photos should follow a few hours later.

Once we confirm the prototype is perfect and requires no modifications they will start making parts. At this time is when the votes will be locked.

So the details thus far are that Scott went to the machinist to get the parts and say right off there was some improvements needed. The shop didn't work enough tolerance in the parts so they fit together with 0 space, meaning they didn't fit together. The bits they are using on the larger parts is too big in some areas to it's leaving some tracks so he will have them rework and use smaller bits to get a finer cut to give us a better surface.

Scott didn't take any photos since he gave the parts right back to be worked on, but I impressed upon him how much you guys want to see parts, even if they are less that perfect. So he will head there tomorrow again and take some shots so you can see the new parts in their current state, likely before the corrections. So just know, they are only going to get better.

I hope you guys appreciate the small delays in order to get the right product in your hands vs a rushed job. With the cash going into these, we're going to be jerks when it comes to the quality level on these guys. Rest assured.

No worries, delays are fine by me if it means making it right. Can anyone point me to the 3d files please? I've looked on the Knights of Ren facebook group but couldn't see them, I'd like to see how it all fits together and decide how I'm going to do the install.

Not the Update u guys were looking for but an update none the less! As derek said there was some minor adjustments needed. Not as bad as he made it sound just 2 parts are off tiny tiny bit probably not even a 10th of a mm and thus not fitting perfect. In the end everything will be nice and snug.

As Derek mentioned about the surfaces. Im gonna check on the bits they used see the differences. As is he gave me 2 pc they were gonna throw away to play around with and after primer there are very smooth.

He is a little something to tide u guys over Mostly for the people with casted parts. at least u know im not twiddling my thumbs while i wait for parts.

No problem here. Delays are inevitable, and if it is because you guys demand exacting tolerances and an exemplary product, then I have no gripes whatsoever. Take as long as necessary. I hope I speak for everyone when I say that good things like this should never be rushed.

The parts you shared here look amazing. This is going to be an awesome project...

To be honest guys, some hilt runs have been known to extend months, even years..... your production schedule is absolutely fantastic. Take your time, it's all good man.
