Sit it out? He tried to kill Palpatine. I would call that a pretty active role.
Yeah, except he made the choice to go into exile (how does that even make sense? He's HIDING, not in exile) after failing to kill Palpatine. So when the first direct assault didn't work, Yoda decides to just kinda hide in the swamp for 20 years or so waiting for someone stronger to handle it. He could have whooped Vader any time, but didn't. He was a massively influential and visible member of the jedi - he could have tried to help put the Rebellion together. He could have..anything. Our hero, ladies and gentlemen.
Anyhoo...really liked the episode a lot more than I thought I would. I was expecting some god-awful cutesy, Home Alone garbage and got more of Red Dawn. I was thinking at the begining "why doesn't the Jedi who's proven multiple times that she can take out an army slaughter these thugs?", but what the hell, the rest of the episode moved along fast enough to knock that thought to the side. Bring on the conculsion!
