City-by-City -- Hobby Shops

Phoenix still has:
Hobby Bench - two locations
Hobby HQ
Hobby Lobby (the chain, not the original) Several locations
Reynolds Materials (Tempe)
Also some gaming stores that may also carry painting supplies.

Pegasus Hobbies is now in Upland CA, in case you are near the Inland Empire:

I visited a few months ago. Even larger selection now, in their new building (est 2021).

In case anyone is wondering, that is not my video, just a good one I found.

Unfortunately Main Line Hobbies in Plymouth Meeting, PA got shut down after covid so cross that one off the list.
Herb's Hobbies and Crafts in Doylestown PA closed 10 years ago.
You can add Modellbahn Ott Hobbies in Boyertown, PA to the list. Stores are getting really thin on the ground in my area. :(

Kanousei Hobby Unit 91, Cariocca Business Park, 2 Hellidon Cl, Ardwick, Manchester, United Kingdom M12 4AH.

Mostly seems to focus on Gunpla, but a range of other stuff too.

Chains tend to dominate in Nebraska; surprise, home of Hobby Town.

I part own a game store in Lincoln, good selection of paint and tools, GW, Vallejo, Army Painter, etc.

If that counts, Gauntlet Games, south Lincoln.

Maybe Ground Zero Comics in Ralston (metro Omaha)?

Lot of coming and going that I have trouble keeping up.

Went to Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul, Minnesota today while visiting family. Great shop. They had everything.

New location for Sunward Hobbies:

1200 Aerowood Dr Unit 39,
Mississauga, Ontario

1. "Hobbyland" in Columbus Ohio is no more. Been moved from Graceland for several years and did not last at new location on N.High St.
2. "Barber Pole Hobbies" in Sayre, PA is not on the list. Looks run down from the outside but inside they have a huge selection. Owner (Loren) is a good dude and there is community of builders you'll see just hanging out. Primarily plastic, of all genres, some train stuff, large selection of model rockets too. If he doesn't have it, the owner is willing to ask his vendors if they can get it. Been in business over 30 years. Called Barber Shop because his Dad and Grandad both worked as barbers out of there but apparently the talent skips every third generation.
3. There is another hobby shop run out of a garage just up the street from #2. but I can't remember the name.
4. "Webster NY, outside of Rochester has "Performance Hobbies" the whole back half of the store is mostly plastic models of all genres. A lot of RC cars and planes. They also have airsoft.
5. "Auto Models LLC" in South Greensburg, PA have good size selection of plastic in a lot of genres. Probably one of the larger selections in PA of Gundam. Nice owners.
6. "Wolf Games and Models" in Massillon, OH. Formerly Wheels, Wings, and Water. Larger selection of plastic. Vintage armor/aircraft. Gaming and supplies. Huge paint department!

Wow to #1! I was just at Hobbyland spring of 2023. I didn't need anything but picked up the 14" Space 1999 Eagle to throw them some business (and it was an easy carry-on size for my flight). I used to live in Columbus from 1985 to 1990 and visited them in Graceland weekly. Lots of kits bought from over those 5-years. That's sad to hear.

I know I went to the Graceland location for I think 2 decades.

5. Really?! I've driven past a few dozen times and never thought to stop in not much for car models. I'll have to give it a whirl next trip to Greensburg.

Due to economic forces, the original location for Hobby Bench is now closed. There is one final remaining store in the Phoenix area.
