Hey Dougie, How did you build the feet? With all the duct tape on it I'll like to see the plastic drum with foam you're taking about. I'm 6 ft and weigh 219lbs and I'ld like to see how this could hold the weight.

If only!! Would have saved me some sculpting.

Cerillio, they are just your standard 5 litre paint drums surounded by upholstery foam, I don't have any pics of the raw materials. I find the paint drums to be extremely strong.

Now this is a project I'd love to try. Is it a costly project for the suit and hair? I imagine the headpiece would be expensive.. I can't sculpt worth a damn, so I'd have to buy a head and feet. I guess they wouldn't come cheap. I've been in this hobby long enough to know that much.

How tall exactly was Chewy? I'd like to see how much lift I'd need in the boots. I'm 6'6" myself.

The visual dictionary and wookieepedia will say 8' but it's more like 7'9" according to Peter Mayhew, makes much more sense considering he's 7'2" (4 inch platforms and 3 inches in the mask).
Tarfful should be about the same height.

Ironically the taller you are the harder you will find it to hide your feet in lifts or stilts, taking into account the fact that your shoe size will probably be over size 10 or 11.

Size 14 actually:unsure, so with the head shell I'd still need like 1 foot of lift... That'd be impossible to hide on a OT Chewie but maybe a touch easier on a prequel Wookie since they seem to have much larger legs from the knee down..

Exactly, Tarfful and Merumeru have very bulky legs!

Unbelievable! Honestly. I have always loved a good wookie costume and have wanted to do one myself. PLEASE keep us updated with pics and even video if possible. This, Sir, is phenomonal!!!!

GREAT BUILD , On the site you used for the hair what style and length did you use?

I'm using kanekalon jumbo braids (matt - very important, some brands are silky))!
Primary colours are #27, #6, #44, #280 with other accent colours thrown in. The hair is 50" long, I'm tying it in at approx 10" for the most part.

I have ordered 30 x #27 and 20 x #44 initially and a further 10 packs of #6 and 10 x #280 but I don't think I'll be needing anywhere near that.
I'll have a better idea when I'm finished the suit by the end of this month.

This is looking great. Good to see someone doing a Revenge of the Sith Chewbacca. I don't know if I've seen a replica of that costume before. Can't wait to see it finished.

I was never really a Chewie fan until I saw your posting on the TDH site Dougie. Like I told you there, "please add me to the list when you decide on making these available". The amount of time & patience you have creating this is simply amazing! I look forward to seeing it completed.
