Oh yeah, I'm also scratch building a Halo 4 Rail Gun to go with the suit...
Styrofoam core, building up the details with layers of foam...

I Dont know if you saw my MA37 or not, that was my first weapon build and im still pretty proud of it (even though I know Ican do much better now). I really enjoy building weapons...pprobably will do more.

I made good progress on the Rail Gun today, coming along nicely...way better than my MA37...





I know it looks a little crappy from the top view, but that will be nice and smooth after I finish it.
What do you all think about the gun so far?

Thanks! There are actually no seams on the top portion of the gun, its one giant foamie piece stretched tight over the sides, the result was great.

A lot of progress on the gun last night...

I added a PVC frame to the gun, it was getting kind of heavy in the front. The PVC also provides an avenue for wiring the electronic details. Also, Ifound a flashlight that looks pretty close to the front detail of the gun, I added a blue gel to it to dim it, seeing as its not really supposed to be a flashlight, makes for a nice effect though.

I will seal the exposed Styrofoam parts first with mod podge, then seal the whole enchilada with plasti dip.
