Limited Run CFO production made Darth Vader Replica limited numbered run

So, as someone who's a bit unfamiliar with the details of how this works exactly, maybe this is a stupid question but....

Is that last pic pretty much what the unaltered casts currently being offered will look like? Looks really nice.

Pretty much, yeah. This was the first pull so after doing a few its working out well..

Once I get a piece in hand I'll take some much better photos and post them up.

I'm not in on this, but i've been watching. Just want to say thanks for detailing the whole process like this. It's been extremely interesting and informative.

Is the damage on the left eye from the original or just part of the 'the first pull'.

Also, is it me, or will the casting's look better than the original by a good margin? Seems as if the paint on the original is in fairly bad shape.

You're welcome and thanks for the positive comments.

The damage in the eye is present on the original. Nothing has been altered from the original casting. What you see on the original will be seen on the casts.

The casts will look better in terms of overall colour, strength and quality of casting. . The original had black paint applied and some parts you could see fibres through the gel coat etc. It had also been hung on a wall for. Any years in a house of heavy smokers.

I hope to have a complete helmet to photograph in the next week or two. We are casting up 20 faceplates then into the dome.

Thanks for all your support.

Mark.

It's interesting that this casting still has remenants of the tusks that were cast in it. I have been told that someone else who's uncle also worked on the films has a casting from the same mould at around the same time and he also remembers that there where tusks cast into that one too. Which leads me to believe that the UK mould had the tusks present on the castings. The only helmets that have sufaced from this UK mould have had damage to the tube ends meaning no tusks were present.

Thoughts?

And this happened!

looks fantastic! as others have said, i'm just living vicariously through others here & am enjoying the insight into the process immensely! great work & can't wait to see the finished products.

The first cast arrived today and I have to say Rowan did an amazing job of moulding and casting these. He's caught every single detail from the original down to surface cracks and dents. In fact I'd go as far to say it's actually a better cast than the original. Outstanding! Feedback please.
