Cerberus Centurion armor build

Hello all,

This is my first attempt at doing something this large, a complete Cerberus Centurion armor build. I'm posting because I would like to keep a log and also to share with you all my progress.




Thanks to Darhood's pep files, I have decided a good start would be the helmet.




Any Tips, tricks and suggestions willbe greatly appreciated.

I wanted to do a Mass Effect build and came across this bad boy. I thought the helmet and armor looked awesome so I decided I must have it.
I'm planning to post my progress frequently.

Hello Again,

This is the first time working with Pepakura.
I started out putting the top section together and could tell that it would be to small. After a few hours of resizing, readjusting pieces, and printing to accommodate my large melon, my computer crashed, forcing me to restart loosing everything i had done for a few hours.
But not before I printed it out with the edge id's...

My layout for the pieces on the Pep File went away and everything reverted back to its original format.
Although the the numbers resemble a paint-by-number painting, I'm glad to have them because it makes assembling Way easy. I known also everything will be covered when it is done.

It also made me realize, that if I plan to do more Pep in the future, I must buy a license so this won't happen to me again in the future.

Well here's to minor set backs and forward movement.

Let me know if you run into issues with paper Pep'ing those thighs, pauldrons or arm bracers. They are identical to my Cerby Trooper build. I've pretty much worked that file to perfection to get it buildable with foam, but I tried them in paper first and decided it was just too difficult to resin without it warping really badly. You may want to look into doing them in cardboard just so there's something to support the long edges while you stiffen them.

The boots are pretty close to mine as well, with the exception of the heavier armor plate on the shin. I bought some tall rubber boots to build onto from Amazon. They cost less than $20 and I gave me a perfect base to build around with plenty of support.

Glad to see another Cerby build! Looking forward to updates! May help motivate me to push on with mine.

Thanks for the tip Zander. I went and checked out Eric's FB Page and he does some Incredible work! I noticed that he has done a trooper helmet, but unfortunately I plan to go centurion. I'm also doing this build to expand my skill set and to me become a better prop maker.
Also I checked out your blog and you made some beautiful stuff as well I love the lvl 1 Sentry gun and Matlock, exceptional work.

Well after a few hours of cutting and gluing I've started to see it taking shape.



This time I feel I have the right proportions.

I'm especially happy about how the top turned out.

I'm really enjoying the whole pep creation process thing.

Just would like to give an update on my Cerberus Centurion Helmet.

I've managed to get both the top together and the bottom assembled yesterday and finished connecting them this morning.



I had a little difficulty on on side of the chin section, being that it was angular. But once i got the hang of it, the mirror side came out allot better.



Also I had a little fopaux when assembling on the back of the neck, but I figured that it will be covered with fiberglass anyway, so feel that it's not a big problem.



So far, since this is my first Pepakura project, I'm extremely happy on how it is turning out.

ls there any things you can see that I've done, that I could do better?

My latest installment of the Cerberus Centurion Build

Yesterday I made up the face plates and taped it so I could take the picture.



I've learned allot so far with the pepping. I love having the physical representation right in front of my eyes.

I'm noticed with putting it together, there was some min., max stack up conditions that happened. Causing the plates not to line up as precise as what I would've liked. The plate line up ok but I'm thinking that I could still get it a tighter.

Having it in front of me, I can see how that face and chin plates would operate. I would also like to try and incorporate the face plates to move and retract so as to expose my face. Also With some of the reference photos, I can see some details that I would also like to put into the helmet.

Next step is to decide either work with what I have put together, re-pep the helmet again, or try to work with some clay to get what I want.

Was there any better way of getting the pep to line up? Do you think I can tweek it to be tighter when I bondo it?
Is the Clay route the way to go?

I'd like to heard all your thoughts?
