Just came across this thread and wanted to add my experiences..
Nicest
Dave Prowse. I approached his table a few months after one of his hip replacements and asked him how he felt. He talked about the surgery and how he was looking forward to getting the other one done as soon as he was able to. I asked him about the UK Metal band that he was managing at the time, Losing Sun, I believe it was called. His face lit up and went on about it somewhat excitedly. I said I would love to hear some of their stuff sometime. He asked for my address and said he would mail me their promo CD when he got back to England. I thought 'Yeah, sure you will.' but gave it to him. Several months later, I received a package in the mail from him containing the CD and a short note that he hopes I enjoy the CD. I checked the date it was mailed and it was shortly after he returned, but took almost two months to arrive from the UK via media mail.
Kane Hodder. The guy often attends local shows. He seems to be a quiet person, but very easy to talk to and down to earth. After one of the shows, he asked if there was a good local Mexican restaurant he could stop at after the con as he was staying in town for another day. I gave him the name of the one and he asked if they served tequila? I said I dont know and he said dont tell him that I'm a teetotaler. I said no, just beer was my preferred drink. He asked if I wanted to go with him and I politely turned him down in front of my wife. She still never lets me live that down to this day.
Noel Neil (Lois Lane from the George Reeve Superman tv show). Met her a few years ago and told her how much I loved that show when I was younger. She smiled warmly and kept saying 'thank you'. She genuinely seems happy to be remembered.
Peter Mayhew. I've seen him on both sides of the fence here. My interaction with him was early in the morning and I stood talking with him about 15 minutes and found him to be extremely pleasant to talk to. I turned around and the line was about 12 people deep, but he wasn't rushing me to get to the next person.
Carl Palmer. (drummer with Emerson, Lake & Palmer and ASIA). Met him at a meet and greet along with Geoff Downes of Asia. Both guys were very generous with their time and stood around talking about whatever we wanted to, signed anything and everything we had and posed for pictures. Carl was just a fountain of knowledge and several drummers that came to see him were asking him questions on technique that he answered in depth. Very personable guys.
Julie Newmar. Met her at a convention a few years ago. She has a neuro muscular condition now that can effect her movement at times, but as she sat on her table, I stopped and talked with her for about 15 minutes and found her to be just a lovely person. She gladly posed with me for a photo and one of the guys I know that is an artist had done a pencil sketch of her as Catwoman. As she walked around and saw that piece, she loved it and signed the original right there for him.
I've really had no 'bad' experiences yet. Though Adam West's business manager kind of keeps people moving by him so quickly that you dont really have to time to stop and just spend a few minutes talking with him as it just speaking to him will wear him out. It feel like just part of an assembly line and somewhat impersonal.
