Celebrity jerks?

I spoke to a guy who I can't name -- not just yet, anyway -- who was a bit of a jerk, but we soon discovered we both are royal asshats, so we're now getting on quite well.

He's a big name, too.

Peter Jackson.

The Wook :cool

I was thinking the same thing, Wook. CTF's info says "Wellington" right under his name... Well, let's think of "big names" in Wellington. :)

Peter never struck me as a jerk or ******, though, just someone who tends to mind his own business and doesn't really do the big crowd/Hollywood thing.

Oh so you are saying Peter's cool but CTF is a jerk? :lol ;)

No, it's not Pete.

"Pete"??

Look @ you, Callum...you call him "Pete". :cool

Way to go, brudah. :thumbsup Glad to see you're rubbing elbows with the big boys. Keep on keeping on.

Chur,

ps~I give up, who's the toolhead actor?

There are lots, but off the top of my head:

Ultimate Warrior- Had him at a con a few years back. Very surreal while we were eating dinner together; remembering being a kid and rooting for him when he wrestled Hogan and that was all that mattered to my adolescent brain (now I care less about wrestling). VERY nice guy, we got to hang out a lot together, he even substantially discounted his guarantee for us. He was most certainly NOT NUTS, as McMahon would have people believe.

Butch Patrick- Sort of a friend of mine, so I think he alright.

Gunnar Hansen- CLASS ACT all the way. Very nice, grateful man.

Michael Berryman- Totally awesome

Michale Graves- Met him several times, cool all the time. A friend who worked for the Misfits, ad then went with Graves solo, introduced us and invited us to a show. My brother, who was probaby 14 at the time, idolized this man. When we went to the show, he spent much time playing video games with my brother, and even watched the other acts with us. Really a good time.

Dan Roebuck- met him through a good friend, he is definitely one of us.

Greg Nicotero- Being in his hometown, I did meet him once when he was at a local show- not as a guest, BTW. He was even kind enough to compliment one of my sculptures.

Tom Savini- I see him fairly often, out and about. We get along fine, he's okay if you know how to take him.

Tom Atkins- He's my friend's cousin. Real nice guy.

Ken Foree- He's alright. Just loud and boisterous.

John Russo- Good guy.

Kyra Schon- There's no one nicer.

Basil Gogos- Again, had the fortune to hang out outside of any public event. Very nice, very fun, had lots of laughs. His girlfriend is aloof and obnoxious, though. Gets jealous at the attention he receives, as his work outshines hers, and she feels she's a "serious fine artist"

Pat Priest- Very friendly.

Ferrigno- Sometimes a jerk (he sued his own brother for opening a gym called "Ferrigno's", and for putting up green awnings there. Sometimes he seems okay.

Donna Douglas- Very friendly, very old. She signed a twilight zone pic for me.

Jaromir Jagr- When he was first drafted in Pittsburgh, he dated my grandma's neighbor. He'd come over and play street hockey with us. Nice. In fact, any Penguin I've met from the 90's to the present has been really nice. except Tom Barasso. I'll give Mario Lemieux his own mention. When I was in 8th grade, I drew a picture of him in art class. My father thought it would be nice to get him to sign it. Well, to make a long story short, we waited outside the arena after a practice. In the meantime, Joey Mullen took us inside, and we met everyone on the '92 cup team. I was in my glory. No Mario, though. We go back outside, and catch him leaving. He backs into a 4-lane highway, and sees us standing there. He stops his car cold, right in the middle of the highway, holding up traffic. Gets out, talks with us for a couple minutes, signed the picture, and goes on his way. No one dared beep their horn at him for blocking the road.

Michael Jordan- Rode in an elevator with him, surprised the heck out of me. He's TALL. Never caring for basketball, we just made small talk. He was nice.

Danny Fortson- Went to high school together, ate lunch together. Decent kid, not like you would expect such a highly recruited athlete be.

Bruno Sammartino- Always nice.

Baron Secluna- His son lived two doors up from me growing up. Very friendly, and liked to talk wrestling.

DMX/Kid Rock- Ran into these guys at a club we were playing at the night before they played. Just like regular guys, enjoying some local music.

David Carradine- This is the best. Me and some friends walked up to his booth at Chiller to buy an autograph. When we told him we would only buy a signed still from Evil Toons, he completely acted like he had no idea what we were talking about. FLAT OUT DENIED he was in it. Talked to him about 10 minutes, described the movie, the director, his character in the movie. He would not relent.

Hey, drthomasholmes, you appear to be in pretty good with the Munsters. Please tell Beverly Owen I love her.

Thanks.

I've had couple of celeb encounters, fortunately neither were jerks, which surprise me, considering what I've heard of them.

I spoke with Mandy Patinkin for a good 90 minutes over the phone, fixing his Palm Pilot. He was a really sweet guy, very patient, very understanding. He even asked if he could call us back to let his 11 year old son use the phone. To this day, I regret not asking him to give the "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya" line. Turns out he loves that movie, and loves when people ask him to say it. If only I had known then! Also got to see him introduce The Princess Bride in Boston. It was his first time seeing it on the big screen, and his eyes were watering when he spoke about Andre. Really good guy, despite how difficult I've heard he is to work with as an actor.

I met Bruce Campbell at a book signing in 2001 for "If Chins Could Kill." He even read an excerpt from my copy of the book, since I was the first to show that I had a first edition. He thanked me for letting him use my book and shook my hand when he handed it back to me. He was even nice to me when I got his autograph when an over anxious fan tried to jump in front of me. I've heard that over the last 10 years, he's gotten a bit sour, which makes me sad.

Travis Barker- Usually stoned and never will come out to take pics or sign autographs for the fans

Mark and Tom on the other hand are always welcoming with fans

Gary Sinise and "The Lieutenant Dan Band" tour a lot of military bases entertaining the troops. My wife and I met him after a show last year and I can't say enough nice things about him. After playing bass under hot lights for two hours, he was obviously exhausted but was still gracious and friendly, just a classy guy all around.

A good friend of mine met Peter Mayhew at DragonCon a few years back. He was pretty gruff with her but she said he looked a bit under the weather. The next day, he happened to run into her and apologized!

I've had the pleasure of being around Mr. Mayhew a few times. He's had some health issues for a while and I think sometimes he just can't do the public thing. He's actually on the shy side but when he's feeling well, he's cool. He's also got a nice lightsaber cane that he seems to always be using at cons.

Jeremy Bulloch is great. Just one of the boys. Loves to talk, loves a pint and just super cool.

Morgan Spurlock is another cool dude. Had the pleasure of trooping the TIFF premiere of his flick about SDCC '10. He's another one who's just a regular guy.

Jake Lloyd is a nice guy. I think he appreciates that Star Wars fans still know who he is, hahaha!

I realize this thread's about celeb jerks, but I can't honestly remember meeting too many. I know some aren't really interested in doing the fan thing, like Billy Dee Williams or Carrie Fisher. Not necessarily jerks, just not down with hanging out.

I am Media Coordinator/Celebrity Liason for a local convention and I have met my fair share. Last year we had a pretty nice crowd of them.

The best so far have been: Henry Winkler, the cast from Revenge of the Nerds, David Naughton, Billy Zabka and Marty Kove (I ate dinner with them one night), ended up having to drive Marty to Cinci because he missed his flight Tyler Mane(ate dinner with him as well), Megan Franich (had breakfast with her and took her out shopping, total sweetheart), Jeremy Bullock (had breakfast with him and his wife)C Thomas Howell. Michael Madsen, William Forsyth. The entire cast from the original Fright Night. I got them all to sign my vampire kit and hung out with them two years ago as their liason....the list goes on

The nicest ladies by far were the girl of Nightmare. Heather, Lisa, and Amanda. Class acts all the way. Amanda Weiss was hilarious and totally down to earth. My buddy got the chance to take them out to Churchill Downs and they had a blast. We took Revenge of the Nerds, (Curtis, Julie, and Robert Carradine) to the Louisville Slugger Museum last year. They had a blast as well and were very gracious.

Some of the not so nice ones: Linda Blair (she is usually nice to me but was very rude to my wife...for some reason she always thinks I'm a cop), Micheal Biehn (my wife picked him up from the airport and he was bitching about the hotel he had to stay in), but the worst by far was Bob Wall from Enter the Dragon. I won't even begin to tell you my run in with him. The other was Tom Savini. That man won't even look you in the eyes. Very rude.

We have Bruce Campbell and James Marsters this year. We'll see how they act.

The worst thing about a celeb like Bob Wall being rude is that you can't really talk back to them because they could snap your neck before you could move!

I guess getting kicked/ punched in the groin by Bruce Lee that many times takes its toll! :D

Hey watch, I can do that too:
I once went shopping with this really big name actor and discovered we both had the same taste in clothes. It was awesome. Now we speak on a daily basis. You guys would crap if you knew who he was...but I'm not going to tell you.

I met the band once at an autograph signing and they all seemed pretty cool. Later got to briefly meet Travis backstage when The Transplants had just formed and he was really nice.

I know Tom Savini and spent quite a bit of time with him. All I can say is he is a genuinely nice guy. I never felt like he was rude nor did I ever witness him being anything but great with his fans. Of course this was about a decade ago.

I've also spent a great deal of time with Bruce Campbell. PLEASE understand he has the most unique sense of humor you are ever going to witness... Make a living by your chin and see how normal that leaves you!

Hahahaha:facepalm
