Celebrity jerks?

Biggest Jerk was WILL WHEATON,but now we're friends, and the BIGGEST JERK IS.........BRENT SPINER

..,/,/,''''/;;'.Sorry i think my accounts been hacked by a Dr s.Cooper

My dad volunteered as security for a local comic conventions when I was younger (12-16) so I had the opportunity to meet and/or see a number of celebrities, mostly Star Trek related.

The Best:
Nichelle Nichols - My first convention my dad was "security" for her, which basically meant he sat with her and talked most the day. I came back after looking around at the dealers and she hands me one of her books and signs it for free, she had been selling them for $50 throughout the day. A very sweet lady.

George Takei - I was running late for something so I was hurrying through an aisle on the dealers floor and I accidentally ran into someone. I turn around to apologize and it's none other the Mr. Takei just wandering the floor exploring the booths. He smiled and he actually apologized to me when it was clearly my fault. Later that evening I was at a reception held for the celebrities and the voluteers and he was there and he asked if I wanted to get a picture with him and he actually sat with us for a while. Great guy!

Sean Kenney (Pike) - This one just baffled me. I had no idea who he was, but I remember talking to a guy on a Friday night, thinking he was just a fan. I was wearing one of the hoodies you get in high school with your name on the back. Then Saturday I'm walking around where the guests have their booths and as I'm walking he calls over to me by name and we talk again. I was impressed.

I also had the opportunity to talk with Gates McFadden and Michael Dorn for a few hours and they were both great. They had lots of stories and were really cool.

The bad:

I've never had a problem with Trek actors, although I haven't met the bigger stars like Shatner or Nimoy.

Billy Dee Williams - My dad was called away from doing security for Nichelle Nichols to guard Williams. He had to have an full team of security (surrounded!) in order to move across the convention hall to the speaker stage. He came across as very arrogant.

Tony Burton - A guy in a wheelchair was moving around the guest booths and talking video of the convention. Burton quickly stood up and shewed the guy away. Quite rude.

Overall my experiences have been very pleasant though.

magic johnson - i ended up meeting him when i went back home to los angeles on vacation during high school. turns out my cousin was on the same college ball team as his sister......so we ended up GOING TO HIS HOUSE :eek

this was in about 1997 or 1998. he was the nicest person i've ever met seeing as he was such an accomplished athlete and person.

the only a hole in the bunch was my dad who couldnt scrape together $5 to get me a magic johnson trading card or SOMETHING so i could have a good memory of it. i even got to play basketball with him. there werent many people there, so it wasnt like it was some kind of public event.

gabrielle carteris (andrea from 90210) - i was 13, she was very hot but due to the size of the crowd, she couldnt sign anything. so i asked for a hug......GOT ONE! :D

king kong bundy - pretty dang funny. i was working a wrestling show and being the money man and he was told i was the guy taking money for people to get in the ring and take pics with him. he calmly walks over and goes 'can u count?' LOL i about lost it.

eddie money - very nice but you could see he was being rushed to the table to sign autographs.

RA mihailoff (leatherface from TCM 2) - met him at a haunted house, really cool, signed a picture for me. awesome memories of the guy and man was he ever BIG.

kevin nash - he is really the funniest guy ever, he was cracking jokes the entire time, this was during wcw's apex with the nwo wolfpack so there were at least 1,000 people there.

lou ferrigno.... yea.....i never met him liek asking for an autograph but walked by him numerous times at the arnold classic. my cousin met him and it was like someone had to 'flip his switch' to get him to respond to anything. and by someone i mean his handler. just wasnt personable at all.

i saw him later on walking through the expo with a camera crew and my back was to him, i happened to turn around and look at him and he was going for a handshake to which i turned away from.

KISS - met them in 2004, first concert i've ever seen of them and i got to go backstage. very nice guys, also met alot of the people who work with them. the only person's autograph i couldnt get was gene because people were just being pricks and trying to get 5 or 6 things signed to my one thing.

i've also met a ton of wrestlers, pretty much alot of the big names.

arnold schwarzenegger - met him at his fitness expo....GREAT DUDE. about 4 years ago and he was still governor of CA. so the secret service clears a huge path for him for obvious reasons and one of his goons pushed me against a fence but this was before i knew what was going on. luckily i had my cousin who's a cop with me and he kinda had to nudge the guy away.

so about a minute later, arnie comes around and i just stuck my hand over the crowd of people and he bypassed everyone and shook my hand and kept it moving. my cousin was very jealous lol.

triple h - very genuine, very nice, no problem at all.

batista - same thing but he looked a bit tired.

tom savini's old "fan club". screwed me out of money to join and never got anything.

I've met quite a few too, but my favorite was Cameran Eubanks from San Diego. I met her years ago and she was great to talk with, very grounded and "girl next door"-y. I have no idea how we ended up talking for so long, but it was difficult to concentrate on our conversation because she was so beautiful in person. :lol

ok i forgot one. melinda from RW austin. wowza! her bf was really mad i was taking a pic with her....but if he wanted to be safe from the crowd that night he might wanna let the bouncers talk to her LOL

This may be more of a xaoslord jerk story, but I'll leave it to you to decide. I went to GenCon Indy one year with a couple friends. Traci Lords was one of the guests. One of my friends was looking forward to seeing her. He smiled as he said "I don't want her to sign anything, all I want is to shake her hand." As she approached the signing area, she had a security detail surrounding her. Once in the signing area, she never removed her sunglasses (this was inside a convention center.) No one was allowed NEAR her. Whatever was getting signed was given to a handler. The handler then took the picture over to Traci and put it down in front of her. Traci signed it without looking up, the handler then picked the item up and took it back to the 'fan.' She didn't speak to anyone other than her handlers. My buddy was disappointed to say the least. I said to my friends "Someone needs to remind her that she used to suck **** for a living." Apparently my volume control was not everything it is supposed to be because everyone (yes, EVERYONE) heard me. We then walked off. My only negative experience with any celebrity. I still have people come up and ask me about it. It's strange the things you're known for.

HAHA! As I was reading your story I was thinking that same thing. But she's an actor now, so everyone just forget about all that.

And they do. It's funny how they turn sex toys into a celebrities. Hey, she had sex!!

I met Mushu who played Frank in MiB and MiB2 at SD ComicCon 2002.

He would not answer a single one of my questions. What a jerk. But what do you expect from actors who only use a one-word name?
You gotta think about it like this: he's sitting up on this table with people rubbing the top of his head. I mean if hundreds of people kept rubbing my head I would shut down verbally too.

lmao I hope she heard it

Met Stephen Lang at ny comic con , very nice was surprised I like him in other movies besides avatar :lol very cool towards my son . My kid thought he was awesome since he had his action figure complete with amp suit .:lol

It's funny when you realize that most actors cast as villains are actually some of the more friendly people. Stephen Lang's played almost nothing but villains in his bigger roles.

interesting how when she's doing it people think she's sht hot and awesome to watch, then when she's not it's some sort of **** behaviour to make derogatory comments about.
did it occur to you that a good percentage of people there to see her were aware of that fact and that's the reason they were there?

And that was probably why they kept people away, worried about "fans" who might behave inappropriately.

I wonder if those people remember that she was a minor for a good majority of those films, etc. According to the law it's all child pornography.

On a related note, she was at D*C some years ago (for some bad SciFi movie). Her goon squad of a security detail was physically pushing people out of the way so she could get on the crowded escalator. I really want to blame the over zealous fanboy head of security for that.
