My experiences have all been great.
I'm a huge 'Dawn of the Dead' (1978) fan and got to meet almost everyone from the movie sever al times.
Scott Reiniger- "Roger"- Awesome guy. Doesn't quite 'get' the rabid fans and is a a little freaked out by people in costumes. The second time I met him at Horrorfind Phoenix talked with me endlessly, we hung out for hours outside and he bought me drinks. Loved talking about family and politics. He signed everything I had and didn't charge. Big thumbs up!
Ken Foree- "Peter" Big guy and really nice too. Ended up hanging out with him smoking cigarettes. He told me his whole life story, things he did in high school, growing up in Indiana, all kinds of stuff that he told me not to tell anyone else. I said "What happens at Horrorfind stays at Horrorfind to which he laughed his huge laugh.
Tom Savini- His table was set up with the vendors, not the celebrities. My father and I approached him before he had finished setting up his table, we said hi, then we asked him if he would sign our machetes. So we pulled these real machetes out and he said "Wow! They're real machetes!" He signed them for us and I asked "How much do I owe you?" and he said "Man, I don't charge for that!" We posed for pics and he was really cool.
The next day I was chatting up Greg Nicotero and Savini walked over and joined in. I noticed he was wearing a huge watch on his wrist so I asked him about it. He told me all about it and that he bought it on Rodeo Drive and it was like $3500 and added "That's why I'll never live in L.A."
George Romero- He was the Guest of Honor and people were waiting hours in line for autographs. I didn't want to wait in line so I went to the cafe to get a snack. A few minutes later I see him and an entourage of security walk past so I darted out to see if I could say hi and as I was trying to flank him, he accidentally stepped on my foot.
He was all apologetic and shook my hand. said I was a huge fan, he thanked me and when I asked for an autograph the security guards said "No, you have to wait in line."
Romero looked at me, frowned and said "Sorry man, I have the police with me tonight!"
Nice guy.
Tony Todd- Great guy, loved signing, only charged me half price.
Michael Rooker- One of the nicest guys I ever met. I had my then 6 year old son with me and he had me put my son on our shoulders for a picture.
In fact, here it is-
Rooker was wearing a Hornady Tap Ammunition hat so we started talking about guns and the shooting range he owns outside L.A.
I had him sign a pic from 'Tombstone' and asked him to sign it with one of his quotes from the film. I gave him the quote and he said "I said that line??? Man, I don't even remember that!" And laughed.
Angela Bettis- "May"- Probably the sweetest person I've ever met. When I first met her I didnt even know who she was. I just started talking to her and we hung out for a couple hours, I bought her a drink. When I was leaving the con, I stopped to say goodbye and she kissed me on the cheek.
Later that year I met her again. She was with her husband, director Kevin Ford. Extremely nice people. We hung out all weekend off and on. Had drinks together, talked, they even invited me to Texas to work on a movie with them.
Once again, Angie kissed me on the cheek and was all hugs when we left.
I don't think I have a single bad experience so far. Everyone I've met has been really nice.
The whole cast of 'Day of the Dead', 'The Devil's Rejects', all the 'Friday the 13th' folks, everyone really. Super cool.
