Celebrity jerks?

Chuck Norris is a jerk. He used to regularly show up where I worked. The first couple of times, I thought he was just having a bad day or something, but he was consistently a jerk to everyone there.

I second Tom Savini. really nice guy. jeremy bulloch is a legend too. his wife maureen was really friendly.

i wanna defend peter mayhew... after reading a few of these posts i have to say i can see how someone would interpret him... i spent a day with him and it took me a while to get used to his dry humour. also, hes a very ill man. at one point i could honestly see tears in his eyes welling up when he walked.

my conclusion is that he tries his best, but as humans do sometimes loses his patience. i certainly wouldnt call him a bad person. cranky at worst.

I'll second that, I spent a weekend driving Peter around for a con and you could tell there are times where he is just in extreme pain. Really a great guy though.

Same with Tom Savini, I've seen him a few times and he's always seemed like a good guy.

Did you hear that? That was the sound of Dung0beetle disappearing.

I've met a ton of celebs, real nice too many too list. One that stood out was Marc Singer, great guy at DCON. I was walking around in my predator suit, he got up and said that's the coolest costume ever and could he get a pic with me:thumbsup.

Biggest tool time and time again Lou Ferrigno.
Bruce Campbell was a bit of ahat.

Was he an ahat or more just deep into his schtick? I've heard he's supposed to be a pretty down to earth guy.

I' worked with supermodels, Grammy award winners, and academy award winners , too many to list and the only two that were crap to work with were the one I mentioned above and Celine Dion. I mean I'm supposed to protect her from screaming nut job fans and were told not to look her in the eye. WTF?

I mean James brown the godfather of soul R.I.P... Can give me a cigar and sit down and have a drink with me and his bodyguard (who is built like a Sherman tank I might add) and not a peep out of Celine Dion. Just mentioning her sends that crap song from titanic through my head..........make it stop!!!!!!!!!

When I was 8 years old, I saw Conrad Bain (Mr. Drummond from Diff'rent Strokes) at the shopping mall. He winked at me. One of the strangest moments of my childhood.

I was an extra in a Redford movie last year and even while working he was nice. My daughter is bigger than him, though. Tiny fellow.

I've met loads of actors and athletes, and only a couple were tools. I do avoid David Prowse. My ex worked with Ferrigno on the set of Midnight Caller once, and she said he was very nice, but he's usually a tool at cons. I once was at a Trek con where Max Grodenchik had a table, and I swear absolutely nobody went to get his autograph, so I felt kind of sorry for him. It was still early in DS9's run and his character had a ways to go.

Doctor friend of mine was working near Sonora when they filmed BTTF3, and Mary Steenburgen showed up having sprained her ankle that day. After taping her up, she asked him to come to the set at Red Hills Ranch for a couple of days as she needed to be running in some scenes. When he gets there she shows him around, they ate with ZZ Top (she asked my friend who they were when they left) and while walking along my friend spots the production paramedics, whom my friend knew. He waves, Mary says "oh, you know them" and hooks his arm, pulls him close and waves, too. Their jaws dropped.

Not met that many celebs but heres a few:

Carrie Fisher - While queueing for her we was told no pictures and you got as much time with her as it took to wright the autograph. When i got to her i asked her about working on the "burbs", she stopped signing looked at me and said "thankgod someone knows me from something other than SW". She then went to say it was one of her most favourite films to work on and offered to pose for a pic with me - ill love her forever now

dwight schultz (Murdoch from The A team) - Spent loads of time talking to me about the show and the feud between Mr T and George Peppard. While we were talking he remembered a instantance and started laughing, he turned to Dirk Benedict who was signing next to him (and had his own queue) and reminded him of the story, they both started laughing and they both told me the story (people in Dirks queue did not look happy) .

Dean Stockwell - barely spoke

Peter Mayhew - smiled for the pic, but never spoke.

Linda Hamilton - was really sweet, later we met her outside having a cigarette and she started roll playing with my mate who was dressed as the terminator

Kenny Baker - He's a awesome guy really polite (offered me one of his scotch eggs)

Patrick Stewart - Nice enough, but didnt want to answer any questions

Corey Feldman - Had not long been married at the time and had his missus with him (they were signing wedding photos as well). He spoke to my missus loads about lost boys posed for a picture with her and gave her a kiss.

robert llewellyn - Awesome guy couldnt do enough for us, you would think we were the celebrities.

Danny John Jules - Amazing guy, did loads of Dwain Dibbly for us and was loving it.

David Prowse - He was the first celebrity I ever met, thought he was charming told me how George Lucas hates him and likewise. He wasnt busy so spent 10 mins talking to me. A very nice guy.

DAVID PROWSE when I saw him at the 30th STAR WARS Con in L.A. I got his autograph at the end of the day so I wrote it off as , he was tired, so then I go back the next day, fresh and early....STILL A JERK!

See now I've spent the weekend with David Prowse in Dallas and he was a REALLY nice guy the whole weekend. However at C3 when I first met him he was short and not very talkative.

I've met Bill Shatner 3 times. Once during the early 80's and once in the 1990's, and in 2000.

He was a jerk once. Indifferent once, and really polite and nice the third time.

The venues were--

LA Street as he was walking to the TJ Hooker set (jerk)
LA Hotel elevator- both got on at the same time. (Indifferent)
The formal dining room of an invite only charity premiere of Miss Congeniality in Austin TX at private residence (mansion) (incredibly nice)

Not hard to do that math.

Any stories about this guy?

My experiences have all been great.

I'm a huge 'Dawn of the Dead' (1978) fan and got to meet almost everyone from the movie sever al times.

Scott Reiniger- "Roger"- Awesome guy. Doesn't quite 'get' the rabid fans and is a a little freaked out by people in costumes. The second time I met him at Horrorfind Phoenix talked with me endlessly, we hung out for hours outside and he bought me drinks. Loved talking about family and politics. He signed everything I had and didn't charge. Big thumbs up!

Ken Foree- "Peter" Big guy and really nice too. Ended up hanging out with him smoking cigarettes. He told me his whole life story, things he did in high school, growing up in Indiana, all kinds of stuff that he told me not to tell anyone else. I said "What happens at Horrorfind stays at Horrorfind to which he laughed his huge laugh.

Tom Savini- His table was set up with the vendors, not the celebrities. My father and I approached him before he had finished setting up his table, we said hi, then we asked him if he would sign our machetes. So we pulled these real machetes out and he said "Wow! They're real machetes!" He signed them for us and I asked "How much do I owe you?" and he said "Man, I don't charge for that!" We posed for pics and he was really cool.
The next day I was chatting up Greg Nicotero and Savini walked over and joined in. I noticed he was wearing a huge watch on his wrist so I asked him about it. He told me all about it and that he bought it on Rodeo Drive and it was like $3500 and added "That's why I'll never live in L.A."

George Romero- He was the Guest of Honor and people were waiting hours in line for autographs. I didn't want to wait in line so I went to the cafe to get a snack. A few minutes later I see him and an entourage of security walk past so I darted out to see if I could say hi and as I was trying to flank him, he accidentally stepped on my foot.
He was all apologetic and shook my hand. said I was a huge fan, he thanked me and when I asked for an autograph the security guards said "No, you have to wait in line."
Romero looked at me, frowned and said "Sorry man, I have the police with me tonight!"
Nice guy.

Tony Todd- Great guy, loved signing, only charged me half price.

Michael Rooker- One of the nicest guys I ever met. I had my then 6 year old son with me and he had me put my son on our shoulders for a picture.
In fact, here it is-

MeMaxMichaelRookerSmall.jpg

Rooker was wearing a Hornady Tap Ammunition hat so we started talking about guns and the shooting range he owns outside L.A.
I had him sign a pic from 'Tombstone' and asked him to sign it with one of his quotes from the film. I gave him the quote and he said "I said that line??? Man, I don't even remember that!" And laughed.

Angela Bettis- "May"- Probably the sweetest person I've ever met. When I first met her I didnt even know who she was. I just started talking to her and we hung out for a couple hours, I bought her a drink. When I was leaving the con, I stopped to say goodbye and she kissed me on the cheek.
Later that year I met her again. She was with her husband, director Kevin Ford. Extremely nice people. We hung out all weekend off and on. Had drinks together, talked, they even invited me to Texas to work on a movie with them.
Once again, Angie kissed me on the cheek and was all hugs when we left.

I don't think I have a single bad experience so far. Everyone I've met has been really nice.

The whole cast of 'Day of the Dead', 'The Devil's Rejects', all the 'Friday the 13th' folks, everyone really. Super cool.
