The reason I'm posting this now is the contest recently went from best costume to most popular person as folks realized that if they asked their friends to help them out by sharing their photo, they could greatly increase the number of votes they got.
In my opinion, these three entries are the most deserving on the win. Their costumes were built from scratch, look great, and are fairly unique. They also had the most votes until the last week when people started gaming the system:
