First off: I don't work for the Alamo Drafthouse, I am just a fan. (I will be at the Iron Man showing)

The Alamo Drafthouse (Austin) is doing their summer Rolling Roadshow again. I am posting this on the RPF as two of the three events involve a costume contest with a cash prize.

Stunt Ranch Cinema is an all new Rolling Roadshow series featuring your favorite action movies screened outdoors, with massive explosions happening all around you whenever there's a fireball on screen. Come out early, and before the movie you can live out your stunt performer dreams by jumping off high fall platforms, ziplining across the fire lake, getting in a paintball war, and more!

April 14: Stunt Ranch Cinema: IRON MAN

At this first ever Stunt Ranch Cinema screening, we'll have plenty of fireballs surrounding the audience every time there's an explosion on screen (thanks, Jericho missile test), plus superhero themed games and activities before the movie, themed cocktails, and a Marvel character costume contest with a $500 grand prize. So come out dressed to impress, and ready to fly (well, zipline) across the field in your best superhero garb!

May 26th: Stunt Ranch Cinema: THE DARK KNIGHT

At this tenth anniversary Stunt Ranch Cinema screening, we'll have plenty of fireballs surrounding the audience every time there's an explosion on screen (can't wait for Joker to leave the hospital), plus superhero themed games and activities before the movie, themed cocktails, and a DC character costume contest with a $500 grand prize.

July 4th, Stunt Ranch Cinema: INDEPENDENCE DAY

We're celebrating the 4th of July with the biggest Stunt Ranch Cinema event of the year, featuring plenty of fireballs surrounding the audience every time there's an explosion on screen (byyyyyye, White House), but tonight only we'll also have a grand finale fireworks show produced by the mad genius pyro maniacs of Stunt Ranch.

They are also doing Jaw on the Water again.

I wonder if they will have fireballs surrounding the audience every time there is an explosion on screen?

It does end up redundant when posted that way.

When Expendables 3 came out, I got to see a screening run by Tough Guy Cinemas. For that one they used indoor theater fireworks effect during the explosion scenes. It actually added a lot to the movie. No projector can replace the brightness and IR heat given off by real fire.
