Captain Jack Sparrow's Tattoo

Well, I guess it's a prop... sort of...

Sometimes when I walk down the dockside people ask: "Hey Jack! Where did you get your famous tattoo?"
Usually I answer: "For one thing... it is Captain Jack... and for another thing... at my tattooer's place of course. Savvy?"

I studied the bluray-screenshots piece by piece to get the length of every single sunbeam right. Drawing the template took me about 3 hours but it was worth every minute.
When I got my appointment with the tattooer he had doubts and was not sure if he really wanted to be responsible for the tattoo. He was afraid it would damage his reputation as an artist.
At the date fixed I decided to make sort of an event out of it and put on my costume. When my tattooer saw me all dressed up, suddenly all his doubts had vanished as he understood WHY I needed the tattoo :lol

Since 2006 I am playing with the idea of getting this tattoo. Enough time to think it through I guess. Besides: I would not have met my wife without the whole costume. This gives the motive another special touch :)

Thanks for watching!

This is awesome dedication to a character haha! It also looks great, and I mean its actual art, not someting saying "I love captain jack sparrow" so even if down the line you stopped dressing as Jack, I don't see it being a regrettable tattoo. Both you and your artist did a great job!

Thanks Deakin and Paplooo! I'm pretty sure I won't regret it, too. The character "Jack Sparrow" became part of my life the moment I started growing his beard - 6 years ago. So getting his tattoo was only a matter of time anyway :lol
